Marigolds and Cosmos

Positive energy and harmony are what Marigolds and cosmos are represent. This week, on Monday Music Moves Me, it’s all about these flowers and what they represent. OK, I  am not showing these flowers in my photo above but I do love this picture of my flowers. I could choose some typical songs but, I don’t want to. So here are some songs that represent these flowers, well, kind of…

1. THE BEST WAY TO TRAVEL BY THE MOODY BLUES-1968

I love The Moody Blues so I had to choose this
because they often explored the cosmos. Ok, not the flower but  the universe. This was written by Justin Hayward and is from their album, “ In Search of a Lost Chord.”

2. HIGHER AND HIGHER BY THE MOODY BLUES-1969

This is from their album, “To Our Children’s, Children’s Children” and was written by Graeme Edge. This is an homage and loving tribute to the Apollo missions and space exploration.

3. VETERAN COSMIC ROCKER BY THE MOODY BLUES-1981

My fav, Ray Thomas, wrote this song for the album, “Long Distance Voyager” with all these great motifs  used as only Ray can create.

4. THIS OCTOBER SUNG BY  JULIE LONDON-1956

I have to showcase Julie London singing about October from her fun album, “ Calendar Girls”. I had to showcase this song.

5. MARIGOLDS SUNG BY GWEN STEFANI-2024

This newer song . Geoghegan. This so g uses the imagery of marigold to representhow difficultloce can be but triumph.

I hope I met this week’s theme…have a great week.

I did 2 extra this time. Have a great day

  1. Enjoyed your flowery post, especially as it featured three songs from the Moody Blues. Too bad the sound quality from the third song wasn't that great (either that or it was my computer) but that's the chance you take with live performances and You Tube. I didn't mind the extra two songs at all.

  5. Lovely flowers, and you can't go wrong wtih the Moody Blues! ♥ Julie London had a great voice and Gwen Stefani does too, although her style of music isn't really my taste. P.S. It looks like you have a spam anonymous comment on this post.

    1. Yeah, Gwen isn’t my style either but it worked with the flower. I tried to find one that is an old Irish ballad but couldn’t. Julie is great and you and I both love The Moody Blues.
