I like Weird Al Y. I don't sit and listen to his songs, but what a clever niche he made with his parodies. And Sweet Caroline is a great oldie. You can't go wrong with Neil Diamond or Mozart either. He's had the same band since 1982 with a line-up that's been stable for nearly 30 years. He's lasted than most of the acts he's parodied and often sells out venues.

How can anyone not love Neil Diamond? That's like saying you don't like pizza or ice cream. I feel, should I even admit, proud of myself that I knew something you didn’t. Don’t you love The Intro and you are right that Ed didn’t do his normal style. I love Ruby Tuesday and didn’t know it was named after his then girlfriend. I bet she didn’t think Keith would still be alive...heeeheeee. I am a classical nut so this is a top 10 hit of Mozart’s. Some symphonies are named but only after and by someone else usually. Another famous named symphony is the Pastoral Symphony or the 6th by Beethoven. Cool backstory on "Sweet Caroline". I'm glad he wrote for his wife and not a young girl as that's really creepy but you never know who's a dirty old man/woman anymore. It's all disgusting if you ask me! Ahhh, so this Mozart's classical piece isn't just a number but has a name. I do not know the names of most classical arrangements. I do enjoy listening to it on occasion, though. Great picks! I hope you're having a great week...Hi, Birgit!

I hope you're having a great week, dear friend. I like your picks for the song challenge. Weird Al is the king of parody songs and "White And Nerdy" is one of his best.

"Sweet Caroline" is one of my favorite Neil Diamond songs. It was a pleasant surprise to witness a clean Ed Sullivan introduction without the usual awkward stumbling. I wasn't aware of which "Caroline" the song was written for. ewwwwwwwwwww!

For my parody pick I'll name another great one by Weird Al - "I Lost On Jeopardy."

For the song written for a girl, I'm going with "Ruby Tuesday," the Rolling Stones hit penned by Egg MickJagger and Keith Richards. The song is about British fashion model Linda Keith, Richards's mid-60s girlfriend.

I never heard of Mozart's "Jupiter Symphony," but I'm going to use the same planet. My song pick is "Jupiter Child," the B side of the 1969 Steppenwolf single that had "Rock Me" pushed as the A side. Both songs became fan favorites.

Thanks for the entertainment, dear friend BB. See you "At The Movies!"Shady Del Knighthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07887100141814372022noreply@blogger.com
