When I think of Christ De Burgh, I think of "The Lady in Red". I haven't even heard of Klaatu before now. They do sound like the Beatles, so I can see why some were convinced of it. Thanks for joining the 4M party, my dear. It's so beautiful! ♥ Laurel & Hardy's version of Shine On Harvest Moon was the most fun. Here's hoping Harley gets used to his new food, since it's too cold to open the windows. Happy 4M Monday on Almost Wordless We...Hi, Birgit!

Happy 4M Monday on Almost Wordless Wednesday, dear friend! Awww - thanks for showing us your stinkpot Harley's Facebook profile pic. :) I'd like to smooch his kisser.

Yessum, I remember Laurel & Hardy performing "Shine On Harvest Moon" in the 1939 film Flying Deuces. They were a very special comedy team, so original, so unspoiled, the likes of which you don't see today. I didn't mind this song and dance number from the 1950 musical Nancy Goes to Rio because I like Jane Powell and Ann Sothern. As I think I told you before, I have Jane's film Holiday In Mexico (1946) on DVD and regularly watched Ann's comedy TV series Private Secretary and The Ann Sothern Show.

I know Brit-Irish singer/songwriter Chris de Burgh from his big 1986 hit "The Lady in Red," but this is the first time I'm hearing "A Spaceman Came Travelling," even though the song topped the Irish chart in 1975 and approached the top 20 up there in Canada. It's a neat song. I read that it was reworked and reissued as a Christmas song in 1986 following his success with "Lady In Red" and continues to be a holiday favorite.

I have seen The Day The Earth Stood Still several times over the years, and know the Canadian prog rock band Klaatu which took its name from Michael Rennie's character in the highly regarded sci-fi film. I also remember this song because somebody posted it a few years ago. Maybe it was you. I enjoyed hearing it again.

Thanks for the musical entertainment, dear friend BB. Have a wonderful Wednesday and I'll be waiting for you tomorrow, sitting in the balcony-- 'At the Movies!"Shady Del Knighthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07887100141814372022noreply@blogger.com
