For You, Alex!
This is for Alex J. Cavanaugh who I find to be amazing in his blogging activities. He helps many people and showcases so many on his blog. He is a breath of optimistic fresh air. I thought about making this card for a while and I was concerned Alex might think me slightly weird but then he would be right:) Something just told me to do this so I did and it is for you. I chose some shimmery black and silver paper as it reminds me of the sky and the future and what might be out there. I looked at his blog and his Ninja and I drew it on paper, coloured it in and cut it out. I embossed the letters and I was inspired by a Rush album that had their letters going from red to yellow so I tried to duplicate that since he is a Rush fan. I edged it with stars for his science fiction flair and added the music notes. I hope you like it and if you want it, just ask and I shall happily send it to you if you want but if you don't that's OK too:). I just thought I would highlight you since you do it for so many others. Happy Day everyone
Wow. I love it! That takes some artistic talent.
ReplyDeleteThanks Stephanie. Much appreciated:)
DeleteI'm amazed by your creativity. I love the lettering and the other personalized touches.
ReplyDeleteThank you. It was fiddly to cut each letter and The Ninja. I tried to have it all in there:)
DeleteGlorious... Alex, Ninjas and Rush... excellent!
ReplyDeleteWell it all goes together I think. Thanks!
DeleteBirgit, that was really nice of you to do that for Alex. I'm sure he'll be pleased with it. He's a great guy, and always likes to help people with their blogs.
ReplyDeleteYes he does and I hope he is pleased and yes he always helps
DeleteBirgit, thank you! That is awesome!!!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd the musical notes as a tribute to Rush are a great touch.
DeleteYes I put in the notes but I also looked at some of their album covers and noticed on one that their name was done from Red to yellow so i tried to emulate that. I am glad you like it and humbled too. ...and if you want, i can always send it to you if you wish:)
DeleteBut weird is a good thing! I don't know why we keep denigrating weird.
ReplyDeleteI was scrolling through to see if Alex has replied yet. I got in just under him. (Of course he'd reply. I just wondered how long it'd take.)
Well I think Weird is good. I truly believe one needs to be a little insane to be sane:)
DeleteI like it and I'm sure he will too!
ReplyDeletevery talented you are!

DeleteHi Birgit .. so thoughtfully worked out - beautifully crafted too - would love to have talent like that ... but so pleased Alex is chuffed by it .. and yes you're right he does do so much for others ... still this is a wonderful 'thank you' ...
ReplyDeleteCheers Hilary
Thank you so much-I tried my best:)
DeleteHi Birgit. Thank you so much for the lovely comments on my cards. The Pergamano one with the daffodils was coloured using Derwent Studio pencils - I use them all the time as I haven't got the Pergamano ones. And if it's a white line I often emboss it or use a Stampin' Up white pen which seems to write lovely on anything (including holly leaves). If I need a coloured pen I use Stabelo fine liners.
ReplyDeleteJack xx
I did not know that about the white pen...maybe I will switch to that:) Thanks for the tip!
DeleteThat's a lovely card there, Birgit! You are really crafty and creative :) And what a nice gesture for Alex! So thoughtful of you indeed.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I try in my humble ways:)
