See my card at Vidya Sury's Blog
Fairytale Stampers-Flowers
Glitter and Sparkle- Include some Pink
I made this card for a wonderful friend for her birthday. My blogfriend Vidya Sury, whom I met during the A to Z Challenge, wished to spotlight how I create a card. In typical me fashion, this should have been up yesterday and it went right out of my head. I wonder if my brains don't seep out of my ears. Vidya is a wonderful writer of positive thinking, she takes beautiful pictures and I feel, this all relates to her beautiful soul. I enjoyed creating this card and really went to town. If you wish to know how I created this card, just head over to Vidya's site and all the explaining is there.
Why not have flowers in the middle of winter? I think we could all stand to see some of that and some of the flowers have some deep pink! I don't consider myself a pink kind of girl (I use to abuse my Barbie's) but pink is fun and bright:)
I still can't believe it went out of my head...humble apologies!!

It is a pretty card; I agree, flowers in winter is a good thing, makes us think of spring :) I find the older I get (not that you are old), the harder it is to remember things without a list :) Someone tells me something and I "swear" a minute later it is out of my mind.

Thank you. I know what you mean about memory brain drain
DeleteSee, classic point. I was going to write in my comment that I'm heading over to her blog right now, and of course I forgot to write it, LOL. Heading over to check it out :)
ReplyDeletebetty
hahahaaaa:)
DeleteIt's beautiful! I'm sure she liked it.
ReplyDeleteAbused your Barbies? Do I want to know more?
Thank you-Yes-I had a Barbie camper and i would place my babries in the camper with the door open and pretend they went careening off a cliff and sent them hurling down the stairs to see how they wipes out. I also believe I invented the punk hair cut by giving my barbies a unique haircut
DeleteI'm sure this gorgeous work brightened her day immensely (and it's proof that your brain hasn't seeped out of your ears). Off to check out Vidya's blog.
ReplyDeleteIt's a beautiful card! Who would know the creator of such a happy, cheerful work of art used to abuse her Barbie's lol?
ReplyDeleteI know I guess one may call me gifted:)
DeleteHow beautiful. You have a gift, Birgit.
ReplyDeleteThank you:)
DeleteAh, but the thing is that you did remember. The tutorial was cool, Birgit. I liked seeing all your tools and the process for making the card. You are getting me closer to wanting to do some card making.
ReplyDeleteOh I would love to see you create a card...it is instant gratification!
DeleteI love it! Yes, we all could use some flowers right now!
ReplyDeleteYes flowers are needed and we are not even out of Jan yet!
DeleteThis is so lovely and cheerful! I love the hummingbird. He looks even more whimsical because hi swings look a bit like butterflies. Thanks for the breath of spring when we're all feeling the bite of winter. <3
ReplyDeleteI love hummingbirds and butterflies. Thank you:)
DeleteWhat a beautiful card! I'll head over to Vidya's later to find out more. I also had a Barbie Camper. One day my mom gave it away with all of my precious Barbies and accessories. I'll never know why she had to get rid of them when she continued to hold onto her collection of TV Guides for over thirty years!
ReplyDeleteJulie
Oh that is a shame. My mom asked me if it was time and I said yes. I still have some clothes though and strangely, I Barbie body but 2 heads. Well, it is me so maybe not that strange. Does she have the Lucille Ball/Desi Arnaz TV Guide-that is worth a small fortune
DeleteVery pretty.
ReplyDeleteThank you:)
DeleteThank you so much for your beautiful card and post, Birgit. :D Such a pleasure!
ReplyDeleteAbused your Barbie? Hehehe, I have a feeling I might have, too...if i had had one. :D I was the rag doll kinda person!
Hugs!
It was wonderful and so nice of you. Oh the things I did to them...I wonder about myself as a kid....:)
DeleteThis is soooo pretty, Birgit. We certainly could do with a boost of colourful flowers right now. I esp like how you've used the flowers to frame to birdie in the middle. Have a crafty weekend in your state of the art craft room!
ReplyDeletehugs, Asha
Thank you so much Asha! I plan on hibernating in there on Sunday
DeleteWonderful card, Birgit!
ReplyDeleteI hear for the first time about this A-Z challenge. Can you please explain it to me?
Thank you and it is quite a fun challenge! You can sign up (when it opens at the end of the month). You can pick any topic you wish on anything! You have to just do a brief write up every day in April except Sunday and it has to correspond to the letter of the alphabet. You can show pictures...anything. I did this for the first time last year and had a great time plus met wonderful bloggers
DeleteBeautiful card and colours Brigit...Loz
ReplyDeleteThank you:)
DeleteHi Birgit. This is quite lovely. They look like pansies. In my city there are pansies planted in beds everywhere in the winter months. Those and ornamental cabbage.
ReplyDeleteI'll head over read how you made this(smile).
Pansies are so pretty with all their colours-nice that they are out this time of year in your neck of the woods.
DeleteI had to follow the link for the step by step card making process. I love your descriptions of your artistic process (and your cards!)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much. Glad you like the process
DeleteBeautiful card!
ReplyDeleteI like the way you made some of the flowers three - dimensional! Great idea :-)
Thank you so much for playing with us at Fairytale Stampers, and good luck for the winner's drawing :-)
xx Karola xx
Thank you-it gives a nice "pop":)
DeleteThe card you made for your friend looks beautiful. How special to make a card for someone! :)
ReplyDelete~Jess
Thank you...It's nice to receive something homemade
DeleteLove it - beautiful work.
ReplyDeleteWhen I first glanced at it, I thought I saw a hummingbird. Now that I look at it more, I think a little marker could totally turn this into a hummingbird and make that stamp do double duty.
hahahaha-It is a humming bird:) His little beak is hiding behind the flower. See I am not a perfectionist:)
DeleteThat is one dainty card. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you:)
DeleteWow! Fantastic card. That's not really a card, that's a gift!
ReplyDeleteHow long did it take to make that?

That is sweet! I am a slow one so it took me about 3 hours+. I had to think what colours and cut out all the little bits and colour all of it and then get really pissed when I placed the hummingbird upside down. It takes me a while
DeleteThat's a beautiful card. I love those colors. Now I'm headed over to Vidya's to find out how you make it, and then laugh because I know whatever those steps are, they're far beyond what I can do. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you! I did make a boo boo and swore like a lumberjack at one point
DeleteIsn't it great how blogging allows our work to get international exposure! Nice job.

Tossing It Out
so true and thanks
DeleteAwesomely done indeed. Blogging sure can extend our reach, letting things fly around
ReplyDeleteHow true is this!
DeleteI have a fondness for pink. In fact I'm looking for a pink handled hammer. Can't seem to find one unless its part of a kit....
ReplyDeletethe song."If I had a hammer" is going through my head now and in pink!
DeleteLOL
DeleteWow, colors are great., Birgit. Makes me think of spring. Lol, Sandra's comment above. I found a [oink hammer and love it....(men won't use this one so I always know where it is....it's a proven fact :).
ReplyDeleteToo funny as macho men would never use this. Actually great idea since they leave our stuff with theirs and then we can't find it
DeleteBeautiful. And yes, we need flowers in the middle of winter! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteDid you shave your Barbie's hair? Love it.
ReplyDeleteActually, I love pink too.
Your cards are beauties, and Vidya is a special lady.
Keep a smile, Birgit.
Oh yes i cut the side of her head on each side and left the top long and then placed vasaline in it to stand on end...poor Barbie never had a chance. Thank you about my card:) Vidya is sweet
DeleteHappy Tuesday.....
ReplyDelete:)
DeleteBeautiful card as always, Brigit! I hope you have a beautiful day :)
ReplyDeleteThank you...same to you:)
DeleteThat's OK - you got it posted, and that's what counts!! It's a beautiful card, as always :)
ReplyDeleteI did..thankfully:)
DeleteHave a good evening, Birgit and enjoy your day tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteI am enjoying my few days but tomorrow is Monday...gak!
DeleteLovely card ! I was reading your latest post on gratitude, and wanted to comment; I found difficult to comment, as the page was not opening, so I scroll down to read this post and I liked the card, I don't see much of English movies.. still am glad to read your posts !!
ReplyDeleteThank you-sorry you had a hard time to open up the post but glad you found this:)
