Oh, did someone say glitter?? Now , when someone says this or suggests this, I, being the magpie that I am, must comply and in a big way. I briefly thought about making the little snowman in yellow and then I wisely went against that thought. One would think, Billy Bubba and his beer drinking team made that snowman. I have tons of scrap paper so this is one way of using them up by making stripes on my own. I had polka dot paper which I used in the upper right corner and had to embellish the dots with stickles. I dove right into the glitter and just glammed up the snowy town scene. I was overjoyed that I did not sneeze which I did do once and the glitter went everywhere. Happy July everyone!
Glitter and a sneeze. I can picture that.
ReplyDeleteOh it was everywhere!
DeleteIt's beginning to look a lot like Christmas, dear Brrr-git! :) I love the blue, gray and magenta hues used in the card and, as usual, the artwork is fantastic. Nicely done, dear friend!
ReplyDeleteGlad you like them and in card land there is Christmas in July!
DeleteSo pretty!!! That would be a nightmare with a glitter sneeze :) I guess it must be a hard thing to clean up; was checking out some wedding venues and several said "no glitter." Not that I'm enamored to it. Its probably like corgi fur, a gift that keeps on giving as you have to vacuum it up.
ReplyDeletebetty
You got that right! I had glitter on me even after 3 showers! My home is wonder of glitter and fur
DeleteNow that is some sparkly fantasticness! I think you could see this shimmer from a mile away. I'd say you rocked the glitter challenge!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I had to give glitter the freedom:)
DeleteI love the dimensional effect and the colors. Great work, Birgit. You're making me want to do cards. If I buy any more art supplies, Hubzam will make me rent my own apartment for them.
ReplyDeleteOh that is like me and thankfully I have my big room which I adore.
DeleteA beautiful Christmas card Birgit, a lovely design and pretty colour combo, your star image is delightful and fabulous sparkling details!!

Deletewhat a great way to use scraps Birgit...that background is full of textures ....lovely centre piece and lots of glitter...a perfect Christmas card! xxxxxxx
ReplyDeleteThank you:) I try to make it Christmassy and glittery
DeleteLovely card, presented with humour. I forgive you for mentioning Christmas AGAIN! The Billy Bubba comment reminded me of a Frank Zappa song which has a line something like "don't eat the yellow snow - that's where the huskies go." (Not a Zappa fan, one of the things I put up with for the sake of marital harmony.)

That Zappa line is too funny and sorry about the name calling but be prepared for more:)
DeleteThat turned out great. Never thought about sneezing haha that would sure suck with glitter.
ReplyDeleteOh it did and you could find glitter in my hair, up my nose, down my tops never mind that it went all over my craft room
DeleteOooo . . . . that little scene in the star is beautiful. I love all the sparkle! And what a great way to use up some scraps that are "just lying around doing nothing". I have soooo many of those. Definitely got a giggle out of the glitter sneeze. Thanks for playing with The House that Stamps Built.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much-it was fun to create and yes-never sneeze near glitter
Deletelove the colors you used and all that glitter, too - thanks for playing along at the 52CCT
ReplyDeleteThis one is a winner, Birgit. In my book it is. Right at the top of all your other cards. I like how your star of a snow scene pops above those stripes.
ReplyDeleteOh that is so nice-Thank you so very much:)
