Sparkles Christmas-Angels or Fairies
Christmas Cards All Year Long-Shabby Chic or Monochromatic
Happy Little Stampers-Christmas-A Song (I chose, "Angels we have Heard on High")
Dream Valley Challenges-Monochrome
Simon Says-Anything Goes
This looks better in person than in the photo. I love angels and fairies, hell, some of my best friends are fairies....to Politically incorrect?? They don't mind when I joke so I hope you don't:) OK I chose blue....big surprise since that is my favourite colour. I took my cuddle bug to the dark blueish-purple cardstock and embossed it and then used my perfect pearls to highlight the area. I stamped and embossed the angel in blue and coloured her with my tombow markers. I took a bright Caribbean blue cardstock as the base but to soften the tone, I took some vellum that I embossed with my dots and glued it to the bright blue. The problem is the glue showed through so I added some stickers that I coloured in blue to try to mask my boo-boo. I adhered it all together and used pop up dots for the angel.

ReplyDeleteGood time to get a jump on those Christmas cards. People are already buying them. I think my wife ordered ours last week.
It's always good to be ahead of the game
DeleteHi, Birgit!
ReplyDeleteI am very sorry to learn that you've been "poorly" again, dear friend. I hope that's the last time for a long while.
We can all stop joking about the end of year holidays because they are rapidly approaching. I love these latest cards of yours - lovely color combos and artistic in their composition!
Keep well and enjoy the rest of your week, dear friend BB!
Thank you so much and glad you like the cards. I'm not all that great still but can go to work
DeleteBeautiful Christmas card Birgit. Thank you for playing along with our Challenge at Christmas Cards All Year Round. We would love to see you again ... Anet DTx
ReplyDeleteWhat about Halloween? Can't forget Halloween. (Although, not an official holiday...)
ReplyDeleteOh I love Halloween but we don't get that day off.
DeleteHope you're all well, soon!
ReplyDeleteMe too:)
DeleteFeel better soon. Veteran's Day is a Federal holiday here. Also my birthday so I never had to work on it.
ReplyDeleteThank you and lucky you.
DeleteAbsolutely lovely but I never look too far ahead!
ReplyDeleteThank you and I do look ahead sometimes too much
DeleteSorry you haven't been well - hope you feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteThank you and keep on walking:)
DeleteThe copper is a beautiful touch. I can think of some fairy and non-fairy friends who'd like the first one too.
ReplyDeleteI hope you're feeling 100% now, Birgit.
Thanks..I thought it looked good.
DeleteI love your blue angel. Blue is a soothing color. I hope you've recovered completely.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
Thank you so much..glad you like it.
DeleteI adore these! I love the shades of blue in the first and the bold design in second. Feel better soon. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Lexa! I'm glad you like both
DeleteSuch a pretty angel card. Please do not mention the "C" word again :) I know I will freak out anytime soon when shopping to be confronted with Christmas trees or Santa displays.
ReplyDeletebetty
Hahahaaa sorry, that is the second time you heard it so soon from me:) I'm with you that I don't want to see any decorations until after November 11th
DeleteBeautiful card. Thank you for joining us at CCAYR.

DeleteOh, my goodness! So true. And then it's 2017...and then it's 2020 before we know it.
ReplyDeleteI know..I can't believe it has been 16 years before Y2K
DeleteGanz wundervoll. Toll gemacht. Danke für die Teilnahme bei den Animal Friends.
ReplyDeleteLG Dreja
Danke Schoen!
DeleteVery pretty again, Birgit. I'm sorry to hear you were ill--it was probably from thinking about Christmas in early September! :D
ReplyDeleteNo seriously, I hope you're feeling better.
Hahahahaa it probably is because I have been thinking too hard which is why there is smoke everywhere:)
DeleteTwo beautiful cards here Birgit! I love the deer card with all those deer perfectly lined up. I hope you're on the mend soon!
ReplyDeleteThank you and I'm surprised at how well I lined up the deer
DeleteJust loving that Angel Birgit.....and those cheeky deer prancing across the page....two lovely cards
ReplyDeleteHope you are feeling a bit better sending you a big hug xxxxx
I'm so happy when you like my cards because you are great. Thank you so much for your hugs
DeleteHopefully the germs go away at your bay. Great cards indeed. The deer one is fun as they prance in sync.
ReplyDeleteThey are synchronized deer dancing and a prancing.
DeleteGee, don't rush us!
ReplyDeleteHope you're feeling better.
Hahahaaa....I still mail cards so I start early.
DeleteLovely deer card, Birgit! The copper emboss provides such an elegant feel to it. Thanks for including Retro Rubber in your stamping fun this week. Hope you are feeling better...
ReplyDeleteThank you so much. I always enjoy your challenges
DeleteBut, your Thanksgiving is in October, which makes for nicer weather than ours. But, you only get a three day weekend, whereas ours is usually four.
ReplyDeleteBasically, a wash.
You are so right but we don't have freaky nutty Black Friday thank goodness.

Sorry to hear you've been down. I hope your restored good health lasts a long time.
ReplyDeleteOh dear, sorry to hear you've not felt well, what a bummer, but I'm glad you're starting to feel a bit better. Loved this post, so funny. People need to learn to laugh about some things, especially if the words are not meant to 'hurt'. But I guess some folks like Politically Correct, and I agree, you shouldn't use 'words' to hurt somebody. Loved the angel card, and brilliant fix with the corners. They added a lot of sparkle and texture too. The dark purple shines with the addition of the p.pearls. Thought it was metallic until I read the post. Also love #2, and it would certainly fit my definition of monochrome coloring. It's also very chic & well designed, and great work on coloring the sentiment stickers to match your color scheme. Both are lovely! Feel better soon. TFS & Hugs
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for all you have said Mary. You are a great artist at card making so I value your opinion. I may need to go to a walk in clinic.
DeleteBeautiful cards, Birgit. I hope you stay on the mend...thanks for sharing your beautiful angel card with us at CCAYR!

Hahahahaa you are back but glad you are and glad you like my deer card
DeleteSo pretty, Birgit. I was just thinking that the first card must look much better "in person" and then read that you wrote the same thing :) Love the reindeer. Are you feeling better now? Hugs! I feel like making some cards!
ReplyDeleteToday is the first day that I feel a bit back to normal. Normal for me. Yes, this card does look better in person but oh well. You should create some cards...love to see them
DeleteA beautiful creation Birgit. Thank you so much for sharing your lovely creation with us at Dream Valley Challenges.

Your deers look like they're tapdancing to some one hot song. Maybe one that the fairy angel is playing. Can you tell my imagination is at tip top form right now? That's with the help of 2 aleves and 2 beers several hours ago. Hee hee.
ReplyDeleteThis is just the cutest card ever and just perfect for our challenge over at Sparkles Christmas Challenge "Angels or Fairies" good luck and hope to see you again next time Dt Member Sandra H xx

Beautiful! I like the monochromatic feel of the card! Thanks for playing along with us at Retro Rubber!
ReplyDeleteIt's a process isn't it, getting our cards to turn out?! I loved reading what your process was, Birgit, and I think they both turned out schparkly and beautiful for Christmas! And the last time I looked, your second card was the picture of mono chrome, so you aren't the only one confuddled about the remark you received! Thanks for coming by to see me! Hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteSehr schön gemacht. Vielen Dank für deine Teilnahme bei den Animal Friends.
