Cute Card Thursdays-Anything Goes (Critters theme)
I bought this stamp with my best friend in mind because she loves Giraffes. I have some distress sprays and had some fun spraying the white paper with grey, yellow and silver. I attached it to white cardstock and then stamped the giraffe in black ink and stamped the saying in grey. I coloured the giraffe in a yellow marker. And added the glitter using my stickles.

I love my dancing bears which I bought, maybe 20 yrs ago. They are the Fred & Ginger of my stamps:). I stamped the bears 3 times, once with white embossing powder and the others in black sparkle. I goofed a little with the black one but the white around the bears looks like snow. I layered it on silver cardstock that I dry embossed using my cuddlebug before layering it on black and white cardstock. I mounted the bears on foam tape to add dimension plus sparkled up the white bears. I finally stamped the saying and snowflakes in black and heat embossed it all with black sparkle. I love my bears!
Finally got a couple done which I'm glad about.
These look great! I especially love the giraffe one- because it reminds me of my best friend- who also likes giraffes.

I so love that giraffe!
ReplyDeleteHi, Birgit!
ReplyDeleteI love your animal themed cards, dear friend!
The giraffe is one of my favorite animals. When I was a toddler, my dad built a large wooden clothes tree giraffe for my bedroom. He hand painted it, named it Jasper and stood it next to my bed. Every night, Jasper was the last thing I saw as I closed my eyes to sleep and the first thing I saw every morning upon waking. In 2013, Mrs. Shady and I visited the zoo in Naples, Florida, and had fun feeding endive leaves to the giraffes.
I agree that the white flecks surrounding the dancing bears in the black segment imply snowflakes.
You did a great job on these cards, dear friend BB. I wish you a safe and happy week ahead!
Those are fun. I like bears, so long as they're not real bears and/or it's not in person. I wouldn't want to encounter an actual live bear.
ReplyDeleteThat giraffe is adorable and your ears are so festive. I looked at that embossing die on Amazon, but decided it wasn't what I wanted. You did a great job with both these, dear Birgit.
ReplyDeleteI love that giraffe one! It looks so cute.
