I had a wonderful Christmas with my Hubby and my brother. I did too much and am feeling the effects today so I am resting. Here are 3 films I hope to watch…
1. A CHRISTMAS CAROL-1951
Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye, Rosemary Clooney and Vera-Ellen all end up at an Inn ru; by their former WW2 Commander who may go bust since it is very warm and no snow. They decide to put on a show and t goes from there. You have the singing of Bing and Rosemary, the antics of Kaye and Vera-Ellen wows with her dancing.
3. A CHRISTMAS STORY- 1983
This is such a fun story about a young boy, in the late 1940s, who wants a certain BB Gun, but all he hears is, “You’ll shoot your eye out”. You follow him dealing with bullies, kid brother, parents, dogs, a freaky Santa, an horrible gift from an Aunt and the BB Gun. Well worth the watch.
I am very late here as I don’t feel too well but I wish all of you a Very Merry Christmas and may you feel peace, happiness, health and joy.

Glad you had a good time and hope the eating helps you feel better. Take care of yourself!
ReplyDeleteI did and am trying to relax. Hope your Christmas was special
DeleteTake care. I hope you feel better soon. Merry Christmas.
ReplyDeleteSlowly improving
DeleteMerry Christmas. We had A Christmas Story on today after watching the Polar Express.
ReplyDeleteSuch a fun movie and LAO LIKE The Polar Express
DeleteMerry Christmas Birgit! Sorry you aren't feeling so great but I relate to being wrung out. I hosted this year and I am delighted that it is over!! I cooked for two days leading up to the day and then ran around all day today putting out and then cleaning up!! It went well but I'm a squeezed out rag!
ReplyDeleteLove you three choices particularly White Christmas. I think I mentioned that for Christmas last year I took almost my entire family to see it in the theatre (I think it was the 70th anniversary and they were doing a special run) and it was magical.
I been fortunate to catch so many of the classics this year and am winding down right now with one I almost missed-1955's "We're No Angels" with Humphrey Bogart (whose birthday would be today if he were still around), Peter Ustinov and Aldo Ray. Such a sweet film with an askew sense of humor.
Two others I managed to view during the last couple of weeks-the 80's version of "A Christmas Carol" with George C. Scott (in my opinion the best of the countless takes on the story) and the divine "Christmas in Connecticut" with Barbara Stanwyck.
Hi Joel! I am going to look back on my posts and reply even if very late. I am feeling better..slowly. I finally saw Christmas in Connecticut and love it! Barbara is so good in her role and enjoyed Sydney Greenstreet. I bought this film for $4.99!
DeleteI watched It’s a Wonderful Life, of course, I would love to see White Christmas on the big screen! I would love that as a Christmas gift.
You just be exhausted from cooking up a storm in the kitchen. I made my rouladen and found it a bit too spicy but my brother loved it!! He had 2 of them and that is quite a bit. I make my own gravy, my hubby mashed the potatoes, we had peas, carrots, broccoli and red cabbage.
I have TCM! I watched a couple of Cary Grant films last night. My r week nightmare with Bell is not yet over. Since they have billed me a huge amount when I was given a 2 yr contract for much, much cheaper. I now have to argue again! This was supposed to be fixed twice before.
I wish you the best during these holidays and I am beginning to feel better.
Good choices. Hope you are feeling better soon.
ReplyDeleteYes, I hope so….i am slowly improving but weak
DeleteThose are all good movies. Enjoy, relax, and recover.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
Glad you love my movie choices and I am improving…still weak but better.
DeleteI' sorry, but my favorite Christmas Carol is the Mister Magoo Christmas Carol.
ReplyDeleteHahahaaaaa…yes, I bet just about every comic did some sort of episode from this novel
DeleteHappy New Year! Hope you're feeling better.
