OK So I am at work and this is just a head's up-that damm F$#@!&^%$(*&%^$#@*()&% windows 10 is screwing up our computer at home and my hubby has informed me that he can't get onto the internet or anything....AGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! I am missing my wonderful craft card challenges. I have not listened to all the Battle of the Bands. I have not read all of the Insecure Writer Support Group stuff nor can I read people's blogs which I enjoy. All because of that flipping Windows 10!
My ex is gone for 2 weeks camping and I don't know anyone who knows this crap. So if you don't see me it is because of this! My hubby is in the doghouse for wanting this thing. Can you tell I am pissed!! OK I shall calm down and figure out something but I do not plan on waiting for 2 weeks. Wish me luck!
That wasn't nice of him! I haven't downloaded it yet because I'm still leery.
ReplyDeleteDamn, just when you thought it was fixed, it screws you over again.
ReplyDeleteHello, hang in there. Greetings and best wishes!
ReplyDeleteNO!!!!!! I hate when computer stuff happens.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry, dear BB! I am on the list for an "upgrade" to Windows 10, but I've been reading so many horror stories about it that I think I'll stick with my old coal-burning Windows 8. I hope you get back up and running soon, dear friend!
ReplyDeleteGood luck. I've heard nothing but horror stories about W10 so I'm staying away for awhile.
ReplyDeleteI feel your angst and would like to help you take that sledge hammer to your computer or to mine or to just some meanie stupid person who thinks they're all that. Hey, let's go find Chef Ramsay. He's still hanging from my studio ceiling, in fact.
ReplyDeleteSeriously, though, I am sorry. You're definitely NOT the only one who's traumatized by Windows 10. Thus, I'll stick with Windows 8 or 8.1 or whatever the heck I'm on.
Take care, and I hope you have a nice weekend despite stupid computer problems.

Sending you a hug! That would drive me crazy too! Now I'm afraid to update to Windows 10. Just take deep breaths and try to remain calm!
ReplyDeletebetty
Oh dear!! My husband and I both upgraded to Windows 10 and so far are happy with it, knock on wood. I hope you get it all sorted out soon. Being without proper Internet is like being without electricity.
ReplyDeleteUpdated to Windows 10 the first day it was available and have not had any issues with it other than losing the old games. OTOH, I've been on the phone with McAfee twice this month because of problems with their software. Not too crazy about Windows Edge browser, but then I use Google Chrome mostly.
ReplyDeleteI have been hearing that a lot of people uploaded to 10 and had problems. Not sure why it seems to be such a hit or miss thing with it being smooth- or awful. I hope you are able to get things working again. Good luck!

No doubt you'll find a solution before the 2 weeks is up, Birgit. I wouldn't want to be the Husband when he gets back from camping.
ReplyDeleteBest of luck to you.
ReplyDeleteYikes. I hope it works out soon. Perhaps you can find some young geek kid somewhere who can help you out.
ReplyDeleteHope you get it figured out soon!
ReplyDeleteComputer trouble is the worst! I'm far too addicted to the internet. lol
ReplyDeleteI downloaded 10 on my laptop a week or so ago and am having no problems whatsoever. I have Rogers TechXpert if I need help. They can take over my computer if necessary. Great service. All part of my present package with them.
ReplyDeleteOK-So As you can see I am back on. I think it might be fixed but let's cross our fingers. My ex, when he was here, had made a "User" entry and said not to use Administrator. I tried the computer this eve and noticed it was in "Administrator". I have a feeling my sweet hubby forgot to use "User" and logged in under "Administrator" I don't have a clue why one works & the other doesn't but now we have progress! So to one and all I thank you for your kind, kind words. My ex is camping-bless him and my hubby is watching TV and Yawning every 2 seconds. Again thank you!!! Your words mean a lot:)
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry that you had to go through that. It's such a powerless feeling. Glad your computer is back on the mend, and I hope things continue to run smoothly.
ReplyDeleteJulie
Bless your heart and keyboard! My computer-person moved, so I'm avoiding it for now. best of lick getting it sorted out & soon (smile).
ReplyDeleteI will stay with Windows 7 until they stop supporting it.
ReplyDeleteI wish you the best of the luck in recovering your computer.

I bought a Sony Vaio with Windows 8...had nothing but trouble for about a year. Sent it back once, reinstalled the operating system eight times...finally I gave up and bought a MacBook Pro. My life has been perfect since! To heck with Microsoft. I'm done.
ReplyDeleteComputer issues drive me CRAZY. I've heard that the latest Windows software is the most stable than any of the versions since XP. Hopefully once you get the bugs worked out, it will settle down and you can step away from the edge of the ledge :)
ReplyDeleteAlso, Windows 10 spies on you and sends all of your data to Microsoft. I know that probably won't make you feel better, but I figure it's worth mentioning. I have no plans to upgrade to 10 after all of this. I hope everything is looking better for you now!
ReplyDeleteYou can stop this my hubby turned of this ability when he installed my Windows 10, unfortunately as its so new they are having lots of problems with it, I even had a total lock up the other day and hubby really had a job to discover what was going on. hugs Shirleyxxxxx
DeleteThats really rotten luck Birgid, I don't suppose it helps letting you know I'm still running windows 7? You just have to outsmart the machines or they will get you! but seriously I hope you get that glitch fixed.
ReplyDeleteWindows 10... I had the exact same problem a couple of hours ago. Now I need a drink. Let's make it a big one.
ReplyDeleteAnd breathe!
ReplyDeleteOye! This is not good. Let's hunt down the computer engineers and put their feet to the fire. I'm ready for a revolt. Hope you can sort this out. But remain sane at all costs. We'd hate to not have you with us.
ReplyDeleteHow frustrating for you, Birgit! :( Glad it's working again. I'm happy with Windows 7 and have no immediate plans to upgrade, even though I've been invited to. You know what they say: "If it ain't broke, don't fix it".
ReplyDeleteI was hesitant to download, but after a guy at work pooh-poohed my concerns, I began to go all wobbly. Then, I read this. Now my heart has hardened against Windows 10 once more.
ReplyDeleteOh no! I hate it when computers stop working as they should. I hope everything is fixed now or will soon be fixed.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry you're having such a bad experience!
ReplyDeleteI hope it resolves soon!
Thanks for the heads up - I'm on the waiting list for it myself!
=( I had the same issue, except mine was just a windows update that installed, then had to uninstall, then tried to install again, then uninstall... Rinse and repeat. It only took about 5 hours of waiting for the computer to figure it out. Not a fan of updates.
ReplyDeleteI keep getting messages to download it but I am trying to put it off as long as possible. Have heard too many horror stories. I hope you are able to get this resolved soon!
ReplyDeleteHi BB Im sorry that I have returned the loyal visits you have paid to my No.2 blog, I do want to thank you and to apologise for not coming before now. hugs Shirleyxxxx
ReplyDeleteSorry you are having computer issues. Hope it is resolved by now.
ReplyDeleteThe only issue I had with the 10 is the flashing desktop, but found a way to fix it by disabling the thing that sends Windows 10 error reports to Microsoft. Weird, huh? I do hope your computer problems are resolved soon.
ReplyDeleteI haven't downloaded the Windows 10 version yet because I'm scared to! Win8 is working just fine for me. I hope your operating system issues get worked out. There's nothing more frustrating than having computer problems!
