Yahoo! My first card for the new year but, to be honest, I made this in December but I am working on Christmas tags now. I made bookmarks back in December for someone and will show them if she says it is ok. I love my angel stamp even though it is old, probably 10 years now but I love angels and thought a scene was in order. I figured they are in a forest silently walking and giving gifts to people in need, either that or they are discussing the last bet the one angel won on the horses. I stamped my angels on white cardstock and then stamped them again on a sticky note. I fussy cut around their image on the sticky note and placed that image over top of the angel image on the cardstock. I took distress inks and coloured in the background with a sponge. I stamped the tree image over top and coloured in the tree and the ray of sunshine. I took off the sticky note and the angels were great so I coloured them in with tombow markers. I added a little grass, border stickers, and snow with the white gel pen.
I hope you like it. Did anyone watch the Golden Globes? I am all for solidarity but why use the colour black? I felt like it was a funeral...except for the sequins. Oprah's speech was excellent and I thought Seth Myyers was great as well. OK then, hope you have a wonderful day!

It's beautiful. The angels are so vibrant.
ReplyDeleteThanks Alex. I really wanted them to stand out
DeleteWhat a beautiful scene. Thank you for entering the challenge at CHNC.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteHi, Birgit!
ReplyDeleteThat's a stunning card, dear friend! I love how often you use my favorite colors in your work. I favor greens and blues. I didn't watch the Globes but read all about it, including the part about president-elect Winfrey's remarks. :)
Enjoy the rest of your week, dear friend BB!
I love that colour combo and blue is my favourite colour. Her speech was powerful
DeleteHallo Birgit

Monika (DT)
I’m so glad you like my card scene
DeleteI like the horse racing theory!
ReplyDeleteYes, I think they are loving betting
DeleteNice card. I also thought black was a strange choice. When I want to make a statement, I always wear red.
ReplyDeleteYeah...I think Red is a power statement
DeleteThe angels sure shine bright indeed. Awesome job. Never watched the globes, but heard about the whole wearing black thing. umm okay.
ReplyDeleteI wanted the angels to be. Highlight. Black is mourning which I think is the wrong statement
DeleteBeautiful card Birgit...they are such lovely angels, with a great background...love it
ReplyDeleteXxxx
Oh I am so glad you like it and I hold your reviews in high regard.
DeleteI don't have TV at home so I couldn't watch the Golden Globes but I read about the show on the following day, and I think I would have enjoyed it.
ReplyDeleteLove the card, too!
No tv?? I would die...hahahaa. They were good and you can fast forward through the thank you speeches
DeleteI love your angels, Birgit. Cherub angels freak me out for some reason. White would've been a better choice, I think.
ReplyDeleteCherubs are cute but some baroque and rococo cherubs really need to go on a diet. Red is a Power colour and white, to me, is reborn colour and one of optimism not mourning black
DeleteI think angels shouldn't get to bet on the horses. They have an unfair advantage ;)
ReplyDeleteThe black thing was for #MeToo. They are kind of in mourning. I only saw bits of the Globes.
That’s true ..they do have an advantage. Oh I know the reason they chose black but I think it was the wrong way of thinking.
DeleteLooks beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteThis is a great card. I always have trouble with masking. I never know what goes behind or in front of what. Your card is excellent. I think they were talking about the horse races because it made me smile and I need that.
ReplyDeleteWhatever you want in the foreground, you stamp or place first. The sticky notes are great because they come in various sizes and the glue doesn’t tear the cardstoxk. You stamp the image again on the sticky note and then you have to fussy cut it out. Make sure you stamp the image so you get the glue part so it can stick on the 8mage on your main creation. You place the sticky note over top of the image and the. You can create the background. Once you are done with the background, you take off the sticky note and you have that image in front. I hope that explains it.
DeleteI don't pay much attention to award shows much anymore, except the oscars but I'll just hear who won and watch clips if its actors I care about
ReplyDeleteThere were some good moments
DeleteHappy New Year, Birgit! What a gorgeous card.
ReplyDeleteI didn't watch the Golden Globes, but I've heard lots about Oprah's speech. I haven't given into the temptation to watch it yet. I find her inspiring and insufferable at the same time.
Hope you had a great Christmas.
Glad you liked the card. I know what you mean about Oprah because she really sells herself and speaks at times where I roll my eyes but this speech was excellent and worth a watch
DeleteYay you! You're off to a bright start.
ReplyDeleteI really like the soft colors.
Happy New Year, Birgit.
Thanks! I have been making tags which I am enjoying.
DeleteWhat a wonderful scene you've created Birgit! Thanks for joining us at Addicted to Stamps and More and we hope to see your wonderful creations again soon! Cheers, Gwendolyn
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed c4eat8ng this card and being able to place it at your site
DeleteHi Birgit, what a lovely card, and well done to you for being so organised! Your angels are beautiful and the rays of light really pop! I also wanted to say a HUGE thank you for all your lovely comments on my own blog, your words always put a big smile on my face :) I always reply but I'm not sure if you see it so now I have worked out how to let you know how much I appreciate your input. Happy New Year, Lady P xx
ReplyDeleteI am so happy that you came to visit my blog. You are a real artist and I love your cards and yes, I do look back to see your reply. Glad you like my card.
DeleteThe angels look so amazing with the stars bursting overhead through the forest. You've rendered a very good 3d likeness of earths intermediaries as they liaise to God in heaven.
ReplyDeleteOh I love your thoughts about my card. A beautiful retelling.
DeleteI didn't see the awards. I wish I would have. I would have liked to see Gary Oldman receive his.
ReplyDeleteLOVE angels, LOVE your card. Beautiful as always.
Hope everyone is healthy and that you are feeling perky.
Glad you love my card. You can probably go to YouTube and see Gary Oldman’s win. I can’t wait to see that movie. I do feel perky..and a bit sleepy:)
DeleteI really love your card, it's so beautiful. I love the angel's wings and their delicate halos. Very serene. :)
ReplyDeleteI missed the Golden Globes again this year, I need to make sure I'm in Canada during award season so I don't miss everything :(. If I want to watch them in England they're on soo early in the morning. I'm going to be more devastated when it comes to the Oscars. So I have to get my gossip via online articles and youtube the following day!
Thanks Ashley. I love to always use a little glitter. It is awards season and I will create my 10 questions for the Oscars and hope you can answer them.
DeleteA lovely card - very pretty.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteI love angels, too, and this card is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteGlad you like my card:)
DeleteThat car is absolutely gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteI’m glad you like my card. As for my car, I doubt my little 1998 Honda Civic makes hearts swoon:)
DeleteCARD! LOL
ReplyDeleteHahahaaa
DeleteBirgit,
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card! Making Christmas cards now is what I should do so I'm not forced to do it in December when there's so many other things I want to do. *sigh* Maybe, I'll get on the ball this year to do it and then maybe I won't. lol No, I didn't watch any of the Golden Globes. I did hear that "Three Billboards Outside of Ebbing, Missouri" won three awards, though. You might recall, we watched them film part of that in Slyva, NC in 2016 (see post). Thanks for visiting. Keep warm and have fun rubberstamping!
Thanks and making them now makes it easier in December. I would love to see you draw some Christmas cards and I know they would be beautiful
DeleteHope you've had a happy Wednesday:)
ReplyDeleteMy Wednesday was a good day and today will be a great one. Time to take the tree down this eve.
DeleteI'am glad to read the whole content of this blog and am very excited,Thank you for sharing good topic.
