I remember seeing The Uninvited and then getting the book from the library so I could read it. As a teen, I loved ghost stories. I especially love the theme song! So haunting. Under the Tuscan Sun gets a mention from me today in my U post. Love the recipes in it.

DeleteSounds like two vastly different films here. Again, I haven't seen, and for the first time, I don't think I even know the people in the films. The closest person I know is Albert from Little House on the Prairie.
ReplyDeleteRay Milland is pretty famous..he was in Dial M for Murder and The Lost Weekend. Diane Lane has been quite a few films that I'm certain you have seen and she was married to Josh Brolin for a few years. Sandra Oh was in Grey's Anatomy I think

ReplyDeleteI don't remember watching The Uninvited but it seems like my kind of picture. The plot summary reminds me a little of The Amazing Mr. X (1948) starring Cathy O'Donnell, one of my favorite actresses. I have always admired the work of Ray Milland. I think Diane Lane is a wonderful actress and I have seen Under the Tuscan Sun. Her movie Unfaithful, with Richare Gere, would have been another good choice for U-day.

DeleteHaven't seen The Uninvited, bit Under the Tuscan Sun is just too cute a movie to resist. It's not great, but pretty enjoyable.

DeleteI like Lindsay Duncan and Sandra Oh will always be Cristina from Grey's Anatomy to me (though I first saw her in Sideways which I enjoyed), so I'm surprised I've not even heard of thus film. I'm taking a wild guess ;-) that tomorrow has to feature Vertigo.

The Uninvited is intelligently done and even has some humour. If I can watch it, I bet you could as I don't like gore or scare for scare's sake. Under the Tuscan Sun is so delightful to watch.

ReplyDeleteI saw Under the Tuscan Sun! I recently read it and was surprised at how different it was from the movie (she was married in the book and renovated the house with her husband). Both the book and the movie definitely made me want to visit Italy. I would love to see The Uninvited! Thanks for sharing. :)

I love Under the Tuscan Sun. We saw it not long after my daughter first visited Italy. She kept poking me to say, I've been there!
