Crazy, Crazy Time because I am waist deep in Birthday nut ville. In the span of 3 weeks there are 7 birthdays! It ends with my birthday and I was always so happy that I did not "share" my birthday with anyone. Now that has gone all to hell! I am not even counting Mother's Day. It starts off with my friend's birthday on the 14th, the 17th of May was my hubby's niece's Birthday, My niece, Jade, was on the 18th. The 25th is my hubby's birthday which is today! My friend's son is the 21st, her daughter's is the 29th and mine if June 2nd. There are more to follow....
The card above is for my hubby and I had fun creating this colourful display. I used different coloured perfect pearls for the background and the Tim Holz for the inner paper which I stenciled using that very wide "metal" ribbon with holes in it to put the paste on and then placed perfect pearl on top. It gives a velvety appearance. I used a die cut and embossed the saying which fits my hubby perfectly and actually some of you who write, are not happy with it, get rid of what you wrote and start from scratch!. I coloured the sun with gamsol pencils and fussy cut it and adhered it to the card. My hubby always says I am his sunshine so now I am listening for the Awwwwwwe sound (no barfing please). I think it has a dreamy, glitz and a glamour to it in a Star Trek sort of way.
sponged dye ink colours in purple, blue, aqua and used a light purple. Die cuts borders & centre, embossed word, embossing powder in silver pearl. crystals, butterflies, stickles.

Oh I went so girly with this one, I must have been taken over by a fembot. Light colours, pink, glitter and some glam with this card also. This is for my friend's birthday in July as she is totally all girl.

So cute with two cards! Bet you are glad to be done with the A/Z so you can be creative again! Happy birthday to your hubby!ReplyDelete
It is fun to create cards. I have made more but haven't downloaded them yet. I shall tell my hubbyDelete
Oh, well done, Birgit! I love both of these, but especially that phenomenal card for the hubs (happy birthday to him!)!! The coloring is fabulous and, of course, I'm in love with that sediment!! Enjoy your day!! Hugs, DarnellReplyDelete
Yes I love that first card too. I think that saying is perfect for anyone creativeDelete
Wow, busy May. Great cards. Your niece shares her birthday with my father.ReplyDelete
It is busy and May 18th is a great day:)Delete
Love the card for your hubby! I have various 'sun' metal castings for yard decorations and that one is terrif.ReplyDelete
I love that sun and plan to use it more. I created one of the things you love-cool!Delete
Hi, BB! Happy birthday to your husband and all your other loved ones born in May and let me be the first to wish you a happy birthday as well. Three members of my family have May b-days, Mrs. Shady, my granddaughter and, just arrived, my new grandson, born May 18. Those are beautiful me-made cards and the recipients will surely treasure them!ReplyDelete
Have a wonderful week ahead, dear Birgit!
Thank you Shady.May 18th is a great day-your grandson shares the same birthday as my niece.Delete
Love the cards, must take a lot of time to do them. What a lot of birthdays. Happy Birthday to your hubby.ReplyDelete
I shall let my hubby know and they do take timeDelete
That first one is really colorful. How long does it take you to make a card? Happy birthday to your husband.ReplyDelete
I had to let things dry but I would say it took me over 3 hrs to do the first card. The 2nd card about 1 1/2.Delete
Hubby and I don't do much for birthdays, other then we usually have a nice meal, say happy birthday, and sometimes we do cards, sometimes not. The rest of our family celebrate, to me it seems over the top, the go out to eat and have parties for every birthday. I can see special ones like 1st, 6th, 16th for the kids, but the last one we attended (we usually don't), there were about a hundred people. The child who's party it was had so many toys they were storing them in the 2nd bathroom....thus my thinking it's too much...........way too much and over the top. We put money in a college fund and didn't bother with a present. I love your personalized cards, and I love the saying on the first one about art!ReplyDelete

My hubby went nuts for me last year cos I turned the big 50. We usually get something for each other which we know we love and go out for dinner. I think kids nowadays, receive too much and do not value what they do get. It is out of hand. In my day, I had one or 2 friends over, some gifts, hotdogs and hamburgers and that was that-oh and a homemade cakeDelete
No barfing here. My wife makes me cards like this too, and it always makes me awwww. I love those colors. That looks dazzling. And sharing a birthday with others may be bad but my wife's birthday is Christmas. And her entire life she's gotten shafted on gifts, parties, you name it.ReplyDelete
Oh that is nice that she makes cards (love to see hers). Oh I shouldn't complain especially for Christmas babies.Delete
Awwww, there you go lol awesome job on the card indeed. Wow, that is a lot of birthdays. Will have your fill of cake for the yearReplyDelete
Yup too much cake:) Thankfully there are only 3 cakes-my niece, my hubby and me. His niece was away and the friends's children have their own thing so a little gift is all that is neededDelete
lovely sunny...sorry.....card Birgit.....made me smile,hubby will love it.....and a girly card...wheeeeee......just love them xxxxxxReplyDelete
I am happy you love both:)Delete
Beautiful birthday card, your sponged background is fab, thanks for entering the Chocolate Baroque Challenge and good luck xxReplyDelete
Thank you so much!Delete
Happy birthday, hubby! Hope he liked his card and had a great day. I had oldest friend on 22nd and number 1 niece on 23rd but that's all for May (and as my cards come from a shop, not nearly so much trouble!)ReplyDelete

He loved his card! Lucky for just 2 birthdays. Birthdays never come in gentle cycles...always bunchesDelete
We're going into family celebration time for the Penwassers:ReplyDelete
May 31: 29th (yeah, no kidding) Anniversary
June 14: OK, just kidding. But would it kill you to get a card?
June 16th: Mrs. Penwasser's Birthday
June 21: Father's Day
July 11: MY birthday.
Then, we rest....and hope the hangover fades.
Oh, I forgot....Delete
July 15: Physical...complete with prostate exam.
Yeah, I like to forget that.
Yes I have a cousin on the 19th I am close with, one of my dearest friends on the 25th and my brother in the 9th and another friend on the 24th. So you wife is a Gemini which is THE best sign(:)) and you are a cancer-moody, moody:) Now I have the Olvia Newton John song in my head "Let's Get Physical". Maybe you can think of that song while the Dr's hand is ...oh never mindDelete
Oh my gosh, Birgit. Those cards are beautiful! You've done a wonderful job!ReplyDelete
Yikes, that's a lot of bdays.
Thanks so much and yes many and more to followDelete
Both cards are brilliant!
Thank you for that:) It made me go awwwwDelete

Star Trek? Sure. Give me a sec and I could even come up with the episode... "Lights of Zetar"ReplyDelete
Yes well, one can see bright colours out in space...sometimes or after a few drinksDelete
Why not both?Delete
Nothing more wonderful than crazy nut ville and lovely card, which you always come up with. Happy Birthday. Great month to have it. Mine's in February, and I always remember not being able to have a party outside. It was either too cold or rainy! Cheers.ReplyDelete
Yes I have to say I am lucky to have my birthday in June although I recall once it being very cold out-didn't reach 50FDelete

Two fab cards, both very cheery. I am sure that your Hubby loved his. Thanks for entering the Chocolate Baroque challenge with your second card. Great use of the challenge colours, Judith xxReplyDelete
Thanks so much and he did love his cardDelete
I absolutely love your cards and the way you explain the process is awesome. So happy to have found your blog! Thank you for visiting mine.ReplyDelete
Thank you-that means a lot since you do such great art workDelete
We have a similar May birthday/holiday explosion, with both my wife's and my birthday, our anniversary and of course Mother's day all within 10 days of each other. It's hard to keep up, and I certainly can't make cards that look like that for gifts. ;-)ReplyDelete
Oh we are in the same boat-crazy time!Delete
Those are very pretty cards! You have a lovely talent. June is the crazy month for me with four birthdays.ReplyDelete
Thank you so much:) June, aside from my birthday, there are 2 more birthdaysDelete
Ooh, I love this one. I would buy it! I've always liked things with butterflies on them. I don't really care for butterflies in person after one landed on me once and it felt like it was biting me. (Someone said they scratch.)ReplyDelete
I never thought that they bite but there feet can have "suckers" on them so they can adhere to the tiny flowers etc... Thank you about my female card-glad you love it and if you wanted a butterfly card I can just send one to you-no costDelete
Awwww. I'm not barfing about you being your husband's sunshine. I think that's lovely. I've never been anyone's sunshine. Franklin is my sunshine.ReplyDelete
Thank you-it is sweet of him:)Delete
March is that way here. Everybody and their brother has a March birthday:)ReplyDelete
we have 3 birthdays in march-sis-in law, bro-in law and nephew. -crazy isn't itDelete
Do we really need to celebrate everybody's birthday we know? There should be a cut off point.ReplyDelete
well I am a sucker for family and friends so I don't have the cut off point:) That is just me thoughDelete
Happy birthday to the whole crew, including you!! Your creations are perfect, and it's so sweet you are hubby's sunshine. I believe it :)ReplyDelete
thank you so much and glad you like my cardsDelete
Oh these are both so pretty! Love all the colors. Happy Birthday to your husband and to you and to your whole crowd. Have a fun week. :)ReplyDelete
Thanks and happy that you like the cards-I loved the colours too. I shall inform my hubby of the birthday greetingsDelete
I love the card you made for your hubbie (AWWWWW!) Love, love LOVE it. The quote, the sun, the colors - all of it. I would buy that card in a heartbeat if I was lucky enough to see it in a store!ReplyDelete
LOL, I'm with you on birthdays! I never want to share mine but life always interferes. Happy Birthday, anyway! :)
So glad you like that card I made for him. I put a lot of effort into it. I would just send one to you...no charge:) Thanks for the birthday wishesReplyDelete
