AGHHHHHHHHHHHHH! So the sound, on the laptop, cuts out whenever it wants to and when I tried to download my pictures of 2 cards I made, this %&$# computer said registration is still in progress, whatever the screaming Bajeebies that means.
My dear Friend, Marni took the pictures of my 2 cards when I was at work and e-mailed them to me so I could place them here. I need to have my ex visit again. I talked to him yesterday and let's just say, he is wanting to come here as a bear wants to wake up right now and say Yippee.
OK so here are my cards
Alphabet Challenge-Window
Color Throwdown-green, orange, yellow, grey and white-I missed this!
Craft Your Passion-Always Anything Goes
I took out a stencil I have not used yet and decided to colour the flower, with chalks, in various yellow to orange hues with some green added in. I used my cuddlebug and ran this pretty yellow shimmer paper through for the design, used a q-tip to colour the raised areas in orange with chalk and added stickles to the outside and the flower. I used a nice shimmer grey/silver cardstock for the actual card. Oh and to make the window, I cut it with the exacto-knife. I have not figured out how to keep it open or completely closed...hence my fingers. Thankfully the fingers are not part of the card....I am not David Lynch:)
Colour Q- glorious green, certainly celery, coastal cabana, silver and white
Happy Stampers-CASE the Designer-I used the butterfly and created a background
Fairytale Stampers-Anything Goes
Eclectic Ellapu-Purple team-Use one or more Die
Oh I had fun creating the background with all the colours from the Colour Q challenge. I took a sparkly white paper and used my sizzex to cut it out as well as the leaf (in a shimmery green paper). I placed silver sticker borders around the edge of the white cardstock (which I stamped the polka-dots in celery colour). I finished it off with the Happy Birthday sticker. I hope this works for the CASE card at Happy Stampers.
I wish I was a gypsy because I would curse this blasted machine. hmmm I did curse it already many a time. I think it might make an appearance on that new TV show called Lucifer. Have a great week everyone:)
Such different styles but both very nice.
ReplyDeleteI still haven't downloaded Windows 10. I'm wondering if they will ever work the bugs out of it...
Thanks! I heard to buy any new computer with Windows 10 is aok
DeleteSo far, I have Win 10 on both my laptop and my desktop and have had little or no trouble with it. I like your new cards, very attractive.
ReplyDeleteThank you-From what I heard you are one of the lucky few
DeleteGlad I've avoided windows 10 so no yipppeeee's that aren't really yippeee's need to come to be haha both really catch the eye indeed at your feed.
ReplyDeleteLucky you indeed!
DeleteThis is wonderful. The doors that open looks magical. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much
DeleteYikes, I'm sorry. My computer is acting screwy today, too. It's like my mouse is clicking on things that I'm not clicking on, to some very odd results.
ReplyDeleteI'm blaming it all on Mercury retrograde and hoping things get better next week...
Computers can be maddening and it could be Mercury's fault
DeleteSuch pretty cards!! Now I'm panicking. Hubby wants us to get new computers, me a laptop (I'm usually on a desktop). The laptops we looked at had Windows 10.
ReplyDeletebetty
I heard, from my ex, that if the new computers already have it they seem to be ok. It was downloading it that many people had the issues with. Not everyone had a problem-Jo is lucky
DeleteLovely cards, Birgit! The one with the window is so unique.
ReplyDeleteI am using a new laptop with Windows 10 pre-installed and that works well, but I'm reluctant to switch the older one over from Windows 7, because I've heard so many horror stories, including yours. Hope you get it fixed, soon!
Stay warm. Coldest night of the year!
It is the coldest night. Thank you about my cards.
DeleteWhat a lovely card, Birgit, your silver frame is a nice touch! So happy to see you at the colourQ.
ReplyDeleteThank you and glad you like it. I was just in time:)
DeleteHi, dear Birgit!
ReplyDeleteI'm very sorry to learn that you are still wrestling with W-10. It's nice to see that you have maintained a sense of humor regardless.
You are a gifted artist with a keen eye for composition. The color combinations you select are pleasing and your cards always have a 3-D pop. Very lovely work indeed, dear friend BB!
Thank you so much. Glad you like them so
DeleteKind of ironic that you have a card with windows! Both are lovely. Still having trouble with Windows 10 here too - keeps losing my Start menu every time there are upgrades! Seems to be a conflict between two applications I use (Dropbox and OneDrive) so I can only keep one. Now use Dropbox on the web and so far so good....
ReplyDeleteI didn't figure any of this out by the way, step forward OH - I hope he's right!
My ex mentioned a conflict but he doesn't seem to willing to come over and fix it...I don't blame him one bit. Yes, I didn;t even think about the Windows theme-hahahaa
DeleteGood heavens, those cards are beautiful. You have such a unique talent. I'm glad I ignored the upgrade to Windows 10 thing. Willy Dunne Wooters is a computer programmer. He has taught me some good stuff.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
Glad you like them! Lucky you that your hubby knows a lot about computers
DeleteMaybe you should make a card about what you think and send it to Bill Gates? Just kidding. I've had no problems with Windows 10. It's likely that some application on your computer is interfering with Windows. I had a problem years ago on another computer whereby McAfee and another application were dueling it out. Good luck.
ReplyDeleteI heard it might be a conflict-ughhhhh I need my ex to fix it....poor guy. I think you are right-I should create a card that is frustrating to open
DeleteTwo lovely cards Birgit...the window card is so different and will be a nice surprise to open...we have just had 2updates for windows10 and mine is behaving itself much better...even letting my cd reader work again! Fingers crossed xxxxxxx
ReplyDeleteOh good for you that your upgrade is behaving. I'm so glad you like my cards because you are so talented
DeleteLOVE the first one so much!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you like them especially the first
DeleteCool designs, Birgit. I can see a sweater in the gold and a top in the floral design. Oooh-la-la. The other card design would also make a neat top.
ReplyDeleteOooh-now I must see your design
DeleteThose are neat! You do good work.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much
DeleteAs always, beautiful cards. You're very talented.
ReplyDeleteThank you as always
DeleteBeautiful inky green creation, Birgit! Love the die cuts! Thanks for playing along at Happy Little Stampers CASE the Designer.
ReplyDeleteOh goody! I was concerned mine was not a true CASE-Thank you!
DeleteThose are beautiful cards Birgit. I have bought an Apple several years ago and I haven't looked back.
ReplyDeleteR
I heard people love their Apples
DeleteOh my goodness! I love that window card! So pretty!
ReplyDeleteDo not even get me started with Windows 10. Everyone I know is having trouble with it and despite my laptop being as old as time, it still harasses me on the daily about updating (freezing my laptop half of those times) and I keep telling it NO. Windows 10 doesn't understand NO.
Glad you like my cards-I hate windows 10
DeleteLove the card with the golden doors. Stunning!
ReplyDeleteThank you:)
DeleteI love your cards. I read through the post and your descriptions of exactly what you did to create them and have absolutely no idea what your talking about _that's me, not you. But, still...I love your cards.
ReplyDeleteI'm also with you on windows and the cyber world in general, it too seems to be way beyond me.
Yes...I know. It's hard to explain but you could make a card like this with the equipment. A cuddlebug is like a roller. You have a design done in a plastic rectangle that opens up like a sandwich. You place the paper in their and roll it through the cuddlebug and...instant design! You can then colour it if you want or leave it plain.
DeleteI wish I could hang out with you and watch you make your cards. I feel it'd be something I'd enjoy doing myself. Maybe I'll try it in the near future.
ReplyDeleteI've had no problems with 10, but I switched from 8 and I think that makes a difference. My husband was on 7 and has had more issues than me.
It is so much fun and one can escape with colouring:) I do believe the worst is upgrading from windows 7 to 10
DeleteLove that stenciled flower in #1, and what a beautiful presentation too! Very lovely. #2 has happy colors that glow and are the perfect way to show off the leaf & gold butterfly. Your 'curses' certainly put the mojo in effect, mine never succeed that well (But I feel better for saying, sometimes!) GOod luck with the computer. I reverted from win10 back to win7. TFS & HUgs
ReplyDeleteThank you so much:) Sometimes nothing beats cursing:)
DeleteBoth are lovely. I especially like the first one.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteHi your cards are stunning. Thank you for joining us at Alphabet Challenge Blog challenge W for window. Hugs Jackie (DT)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much
DeleteBeautiful work!!! Thanks so much for participating in our ALpHABET challenge!!! Can’t wait to see you participate again in our next challenge!!
ReplyDeleteDeanne at A Little Bit O’ Paper
Besties save the day!!! Love your CASE card! Thanks for joining as at CASE the designer at Happy Little Stampers!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty cards! Thanks so much for joining us at ColourQ!
ReplyDeleteWow. Pretty. I especially love the butterfly. I just love cards that must be opened to reveal the design inside. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteArrgh Windows 10. I had a problem with the sound last week and sorted it out. Very annoying. I mean, every day there is a new glitch. The latest update took forever - almost as if it were reinstalling the OS again!
Oh my Birgit, both of these cards are amazing!! First, I love the peek-a-boo door on the first card. Your flowers and coloring are lovely!! The background on the second one came out fabulous as well!! Totally amazing!! Thanks so much for joining the Happy Little Stampers January CASE challenge.
ReplyDeleteSuper cards, Birgit. Two very different styles and both lovely in their own way. The front of the first card is opulent and very classy. I love the background and the die cuts you used on the second card... so pretty! Windows sounds nasty. Maybe it's time you switched allegiance?
