2017...What Will Be Will Be

So, We are already on January 10th and people have been asking me if I have made any New Year's resolutions which I have not and will not because it bugs me, that's why. Hell, I am still chowing down on all the goodies from Christmas. If I want to make a resolution, I may do this on February 2nd or March 11th because I can:)

I have taken down almost all the Christmas decorations except for my Santa's which will be done tonight. I have watched some movies already, the most recent being Road To Morocco which I enjoyed (I love all those road pictures). I can't wait to see La-La land and Rogue One in the theatre.

I have been thinking of what new thing I could do in January that I have not done before...a new recipe, something new I have not done with my cards, go somewhere new like a museum or some attraction and then my dear friend, V.J., called from Vancouver. He was thinking the same thing so he's going to Borneo and hike in the tropical forests and stay in hostels. He leaves this Sunday and will be gone for 2 weeks there and then heads off to Thailand to spend time with his boy toy, um, I mean partner(VJ is 51 and his partner is 25) for 2 more weeks before heading home. Remember, I am thinking about a new recipe....if I could I would have  gone through the phone to just slap him because...well, just because:) He then had the nerve to ask me what's new and what plans do I have this year. I'll be happy to find a new top for under $10! I tell ya, I am one exciting gal.

I do have goals-organize pictures, make scrapbooks, play board games with friends, plus some others but we shall see. I may also belong to the Johnny LaRue school of exercise, you know, open fridge, bend down, pick up beer, close fridge.

Actually, I am really happy for VJ and want to see plenty of pictures and I hope he gets to see orangutans who have the right body colour and hair style compared to the one entering the Oval office.  Now for some fun..

What am I wearing?....Clothes and 40lbs of fat
Favourite Colour? Blue of course, Blue Skies are a calling. Hey, Think of some songs with Blue in the title and I will give each a listen.
My Spirit Animal?  Wolf (Were you expecting the duck-billed platypus??)
Favourite Movie? Oh please, you should know (Jimmy Stewart is the star)
Loves?...Animals, Film, books, talking, TV, walking, pictures, glitter, art, creating cards, music, seducing men, wearing spandex, eating worms...did you read this far??:)

Sorry for being long winded but I felt like blabbing like an idiot. Oh, I did watch the Golden Globes and they were great...

Yes, she's gorgeous but how many looked at her face first? There were many globes out there that night....

  1. Hi, Birgit!

Don't sell yourself short. I think you are a very exciting person. People with a breadth and depth of knowledge to share excite me and that be you. I look forward to all that you have in store for us this year.

I enjoyed watching those Road pictures when I was growing up. I'm happy that the wolf is your spirit animal. People tend to have a low opinion of wolves and they don't deserve such a bad reputation. I wish you hadn't insulted orangutans, however. :) I'd have to say that Jimmy Stewart is my favorite actor, too, and I have him featured in an upcoming post.

I wish you plenty of BLUE skies in 2017, dear friend BB!

    1. Well, thank you! I try to show some excitement in my life:) I thought you would know the road pictures and am looking forward to your Jimmy Stewart post. I love wolves and they do have a bad rap which I think is deplorable.

  2. I saw the Road pictures were on but did something else, don't remember what now. I would be very envious of your friend VJ going to Borneo. By the way, I looked at her face first.

    1. I can't wait to see my friends pictures from Borneo. My hubby actually got me 2 road pictures for Christmas. She is beautiful but when she was presenting and breathed in I thought she was going to pop

  3. Cute joke about the globes on view that night. Didn't see the show, though. I only watch TV -- except for DVDs and videotapes -- when I'm at someone else's home!

  4. I love your sense of humour, Birgit! ☺ That's quite an amazing adventure your friend is embarking on, but you are just as interesting in other ways; your knowledge of culture, for instance. Not to mention your artistic talent for card design. Have you ever considered a career as a comedy writer? You'd be good at that too! Love the "Golden Globes" quip. Cheers!

  5. I've never seen a Road picture. I know, I need to remedy that. If someone could tell me which one has "Istanbul (Not Constantinople)" I'll know which one to start with. (I loved the cover version done by They Might Be Giants--the group, not the movie, though the movie was pretty good...)

    1. I don't know which one has that city named in it but I would just look at the road picture list and start with their first one which I think was Singapore.

  6. She's gorgeous but I have absolutely no idea who she is, and I too looked at her face first. I actually saw Rogue One in the movie theaters (Christmas Day, not much else to do until we went to dinner over son's house). I hope your friend has delightful travels. I'm not a traveler, but I do enjoy hearing of others and their adventures with where they decide to go and what they see along the way.

    1. Well, considering I saw a wolf spider when looking up Borneo, I'm not sure I would want to trek into those forests especially with snakes etc... I will like the pictures too.

    1. Maybe it's because when she walked to the podium to hand out the award, and was breathing ,all I could look at was ...there and waiting for something to slip out. Man, I sound like I belong on the isle of Lesbos.:)

  10. Birgit, If a gal is going to wear a dress like that then what do you expect? lol It's like a sign that reads, "Look here!" I did not make any resolutions, either. We are still nibbling on Christmas goodies and will be for some time. We bought more than we should and I made a lot of stuff that I shouldn't have but I love doing it, so sue me! :) Other than trying to get into a new house this year, the other thing I want to do is get back to my exercise routine. Yeah, I'm crazy that way! While DH was out of work that part of my life slipped royally. Yesterday, I did 30-minutes on the elliptical. I need to tackle it slow until I can get myself up to doing for 2-hours. That's what I used to do before DH's layoff. This will take time! *sigh* Thanks for the visit, my friend!

  15. Don't let his adventures take the wind out of your sails.
You don't look like a duck-billed platypus. (Hopefully no one does.)
These days, trying a new recipe is excitement in our house...

  17. If you make your New Year's Resolution on December 30th, you won't feel bad when you don't accomplish it.

  18. No resolutions for me as well. Yep, the globes were out that night. I mean the stars. :)

  19. He was seduced by the sight of Birgit in sky blue spandex lying luxuriously in front of the TV, watching Jimmy Stewart while munching on tasty worms.

The Husband had to correct me this afternoon. This is the second week of the new year, he said. Yeah, okay.

  20. HAHA......yep and I don't have those globes! I used to watch the awards just basically to see the clothes and decide if I like or don't like!

  21. Too funny! I always love your personal posts, Birgit.

Your friend's adventure sounds amazing, but it is possible to have grand adventures at home. Or come to Egypt with me. I'm sure there's still room on the tour....
