Film Society...Shhhhhhh=3 hints to next week's film

Oh It is another month and another time for 3 hints to the film I have selected for next Friday's film society put on my Mock and the Armchair Squid.

What are my 3 hints? Well here they are (insert cute vapid looking gal with a plastic smile showcasing the doors that open to the hints)

  1.  It's a really, old, old, old, old, old, old, movie. Did I say it's old?
  2. It was a huge hit and made major stars of the 2 leads one which I discussed during the A to Z Challenge.
  3. Gum played a big role in one scene.

    I don't remember the A-Z challenge, but my guess is, She Done Him Wrong, with Mae West and Cary Grant. "Come up and see me sometime."

    Tough one! Could it be "The Big Parade", from 1925, starring John Gilbert? That's the only really old film I can think of that features chewing gum. ☺

    His Girl Friday comes to my mind, but I think Russell and Grant were very big stars by then. hmmmm, this must be a silent film. Something with Harold Lloyd? When do we get the answer?
