IWSG-I am in Heaven!

OMG-October...already? Have I been taken away by aliens and now feel a time rift? My husband would think I am on a permanent spaceship somewhere. Another time for the Insecure Writer's Support Group where one posts our fears and angst in the world of writing and this was begun by Capt. Ninja, Alex J Cavanaugh. I just write whatever is on my mind of which I am astounded at how much I can write about.

Now many know I love creating cards-my first love in blogland and then I expanded my universe and am having great fun and am still pondering a book on my mom's life. I ponder alot. There is no jumping in but more of a feel with my toes and take my long toes away from the water several times before I slowly walk into the water that I bitch about being too cold before realizing it is just right.

Anyhoo,  I am a firm believer that less is more and needs are better than wants which is why I have many knick knacks, books, dvd's and stamping material to fit my new craft room which you can see below.

God Help me....Imagine when I am 80 and having to move

Now there was a garage sale of over a 1,000 pieces of  rubber stamping material on Saturday. What was a girl like me to do? Yes, like the glitter queen I am (I can say that as I once sneezed over an open glitter jar and it went everywhere), I went to that palace, um, I mean garage sale, and bought more crap for my already large inventory of ,can't have enough, crap to fit in my new craft room. I am giddy like some half-crazed blonde film BB -A-Go-Go freak from the planet craft zombie.  How did I feel when I walked up to that driveway of crafting heavenly bliss? If you watch Puss N Boots with his Christmas ball, you will get the idea. Now I must get busy and create cards

Have a great October!

  1. I once saw the craft room of a girl who was into scrapbooking--it had even more stuff! At least writing doesn't require anything more than a ridiculous number of books everywhere!

  2. Oh wow that is some craft room! Have loads of fun with your new supplies.

Great to visit today as co-host of IWSG.

  3. Your craft room looks amazing! Although I would be lost as I am the most un-crafty person on the planet LOL. If I try to make something I end up with my fingers glued together, materials glued to the dog and cat, etc.
You made me laugh about the garage sale - now I will be picturing Puss N Boots whenever I come here. Cute!

    1. Yes my eyes go wide and I see nothing else. You never know until you try and stamping is instant gratification

  4. You are scary, scary organized...
Keep testing the waters on that book about your mom. You know you have plenty of resources to help you when you're ready.

  5. OMG I love your craft room!! What a beautiful space! And well-organized - I love that. i can't write in a messy space (although I often end up having to...) There's something about neatly organized stuff that makes me happy, especially craft-y stuff! Yes, I'm a nerd :)

    1. I love nerds since I am one also. My hubby did a wonderful job creating this for me

  6. But, when it's so neatly organized, it's hard to say it doesn't belong right where it is. Besides, you deserve it. Your cards are beautiful and the people who receive them are truly blessed by them.

  8. I can't imagine anyone having 1000 stamps, LOL. That must have been a fun garage sale to peruse what you were going to purchase! If you have the space and you enjoy the hobby, I say "the more the merrier!"

  9. Wow, now THAT is a craft room! Love it! I think it's so great that you have a space just for you where you can create—glitter and all!

I can't believe it's already October either! These months are just flying by...

  11. I whole room devote to crafts? That sounds like so much fun!!

  12. Be still my heart!! That craft room is amazing! Tell you, it's a whole lot more organised than mine.... where it's standing room only. Seriously, I barely managed to squeeze in a bar stool (a fond reminder of days gone by!). However, being the 5'1" midget that I am, by the time I hoist myself on it, everything is out of reach... literally. Forget moving at 80, will I still be standing at 80?! Back on that bar stool, this time with a large G&T, to ruminate...

p.s. Rosie just rolled over for a belly rub!

    1. Oh my former room was basically standing room and scrunched in on just one wall-I could barely move. My husband felt bad for me since he has a studio for his art so he created this craft room for me...I think he is a keeper. Oh and so glad Rosie got a belly rub:)

  13. Your craft room looks like a bit of heaven, Birgit. My eyes are gleaming just thinking of the glitter you sneezed on! Oh, give me an absolutely cluttered craft room full of stuff and I could live there all my life ♥

Show us the cards you're making!

  14. Adorable video. You go, girl, with your enthusiasm. I'm already excited to see your creations.

I love glitter too. I just don't like how it shows up directly under my eyes for weeks after using it. But it's worth it.

    Have a fun-filled weekend, BB.

    1. I must use glitter and I know what you mean about under the eye. That has frequently happened to me...also on the cheek, under the nose , on the chin....

  15. Ahh... I am happy for you. What a nice find for you. I love your new craft room. It looks like you have plenty of room for new stamps. I have drawers of stamps I'm thinking of selling on Craig's list. Too bad you are not close to me. Thanks for your sweet comment on my blog today.

  16. Oh,Birgit, we are cut from the same cloth, girl. I love making things and if I was at that garage sale with you, we would have just told them to roll the garage door down and split the bounty. Who needs grocery money and clothing!

  17. I am so envious of your craft room and all your cool supplies. I do believe that I own the same heat embosser as you do. I'd like to think that if I had a room like that I'd be able to get some card making done. My house is too small for a room just for one thing and I'd probably still ruin most of the cards I make! I do need to find out why every time I comment from my tablet it disappears into outer space. And I have to remember to comment when I get on the computer.

  18. I would love to see your cards. My husband laughs at me because my cards are always crooked:) I am lucky to have that room and am in heaven

  19. I'm so jealous of your crafty space! I can't wait until I buy my own house so I can make an area like this!! Right now I'm stuck to portable shelves.
