Remembering My Mom

You can't see my mom too clearly there but that's ok because she is now with my dad and is an angel in my heart and in the stars above. She loved that picture of the angel, she loved gold, glitter and Christmas.

One year ago she passed away but I love her and miss her so....She is my angel

  6. Thoughts with you, Birgit! Yesterday was my late Dad’s birthday and I drank a toast to him in whiskey, which he was fond of.

  10. Beautiful tribute for your mom. I would like to say the second year is better. It eases up a bit but they are always with us no matter how many years it has been since they passed. Sending you a hug.

  11. When I lost my mom, I posted about it, then did a later post on the first Mother's Day without her, and the first birthday she missed, etc. That first year was really rough. I can't believe it's already been a year since your mom passed. From the many things you've written about her, she definitely sounds like a remarkable woman with an extraordinary life. I'm still hoping you'll someday write her story, whether it's in a book, or a series of posts on your blog, or any other way you can think of and make available to us. Glad you have so many good memories and feelings to hold onto.

  16. God bless your Mum Birgit, her spirit lives on beyond that which our human minds can comprehend. God is everywhere and in our human hearts. I take solace knowing this - my Dad has been gone 20 years.

  17. Very nice homage to your mother, Birgit. I can feel the love you had for her and I know she felt the same for you, too. I remember what a hard life she had, but I know you brought her great joy and happiness.

  18. Thank you so much for all your well wishes to me and your thoughtful comments about me and my mom. I think she is up there having fun with Su-seee and Vidya’s moms. I still want to write about my mom but, yup..insecurities and fear and not knowing how to start gets the better of me...for now. Thank you so much

  19. The first is the hardest. It gets a little easier each year, but you never quite get over it. Nor should you.

  20. Birgit,

I know you miss your sweet mother a lot! You're right, she's in a better place with all those she loves and the angels. The good thing is we hold warm tender memories always with us and this is a way for us to always feel those we love close to us. This Christmas was really difficult for DH. I felt so bad for him. In a couple of months, it'll be a year since DH's dad passesd. Like John pointed out, the first year is the hardest but with time the pain isn't so difficult to deal with. God bless you, my friend! xx
