I am off this week and, even though I work from home right now, it is nice to be off. This is the time to reflect and find other areas of creativity than just going to the mall, gym, be with friends etc.. hey, thank goodness for Skype and all those other ways to talk to people. Maybe this will make us slow down a bit and enjoy the simpler times. If we are not the morons who continue to go to Church and sit beside people or go to parks and other places where many people are, then we should be ok...as long as those morons have not infected us but we need to be careful and stay positive. Now, I am showcasing a few cards and hope you like them.
The Library Challenge-Eggdrop
I was thinking of my mom when I created this simple card since she created faberge style eggs in great detail. There used to be at show called craftscapes and she was showcased on this. Anyway, this was a simple card to make because I mainly used stickers. Once I placed the egg sticker down I used glue in between the parts and sprinkled different coloured sparkles. It is bright colours just like on the moon board from Simon Says. I took a punch to the 4 corners, adhered all the cardstock together, added glitter in the 4 corners and done
Colour Throwdown- strong Pink, Green, Orange, Yellow
Dream Valley- Spring Colours
Crafty Creations- Anything Goes
Penny Black- Anything Goes
I had fun colouring this image with cue tips using my pastel colours. I used a punch on the corners and a fancy scissor for the top and bottom. I layered the card, added the crystals and that’s that.
Sparkle Christmas- Christmas Critters
HLS:Christmas- Festive Animals
I love my new stamp that I bought about 4 months ago. I used my tombow markers and place just a bit of color on the image and, with a little water, I used my brush to colour the image. I glued the funny/sweet image down on this mulled paper and used fine sparkle on the sock but this bigger sparkle for snow. I used the sizzex and rolled the saying through it. I glued that in place and added the stickers on each side coloring in the centre with these markers.
This was fun and hope you are being creative with what I do, playing your favourite instrument, write, critique a film or organize your home, whatever you wish. Stay safe!
You're right that we should be thankful at a time like this for modern technology that allows us to communicate and even see other people face-to-face from the safety and security of our homes. Imagine if a plague of this magnitude had struck before Skype and Zoom were developed. We would feel much more isolated than we do today.
Thanks for cheering us with your pretty greeting cards, dear friend! I admire the beautiful colors in the "Life is Good" egg card created in your mom's memory. I also like the pink, green, orange and yellow on the spring flowers. I don't know what made me think of it, but let me be the first to wish you a merry Christmas! :)
Have a good day hunkering down (and watching H.S. Hellcats). If you run your Thursday feature, I'll be here. Take care, dear friend BB!
Those morons should stay home.ReplyDelete
Beautiful cards. We are in the eighties today, so the cool Christmas card is most welcome. Last Christmas seems like a lifetime ago, doesn't it?
Such pretty cards! I too agree with you about the morons going to church, other gatherings etc. The pastors should be "shot" who are encouraging services still be held inside a building and not online. They are supposed to be "shepherds" of their flock and they aren't doing a good job of it if they are exposing their flock to the potential of this virus or any other illness out there. I'm thinking so much will be different after this. I imagine social distancing and social isolating will be the "buzz" words from the year 2020 and I imagine they will continue to some extent into our futures. Same with people wearing masks while out and about.ReplyDelete
Very nice! The first one is very colorful.ReplyDelete
I like that egg. Very pretty.ReplyDelete
Seems like the pastors who are pushing to have their congregants in church make a profit off of that...
OMGosh! I absolutely love these! They're all gorgeous!ReplyDelete
I like the flowers best. Really pretty.ReplyDelete
These are wonderful cards. I especially like the big Easter egg. And good for you to have the week off to relax. The hard part about working from home is there is no distinct line between home and work because you don't leave and come home. Enjoy the rest of your week! Hugs-ErikaReplyDelete
You have created a beautiful Spring Daffodil card, thank you so much for joining in with our April theme at Penny Black and More challenge.ReplyDelete
The egg really pops out. Great cards indeed. Christmas seems like a long time ago now with this crap. And yeah, the morons need to stay home.ReplyDelete

Hi Birgit...I have been having such a tussle to leave comments on your beautiful cards since the last big update on blogger...never mind I am on my PC and it seems to work....gorgeous cards and I see you have started on your christmas ones....take care xxxReplyDelete
Stickers?! I never would have guessed. That's such a cool card and even nicer than it made you think of your mom.ReplyDelete
And that flower card is just lovely. I always forget about pastel chalks. My gram used to use them all the time and she made beauuuutiful cards. I just hate the texture of pastels. It's like nails on a chalkboard when I try to use them so I'm jealous of your abilities.
Your egg immediately made me think 'Faberge'! - how lovely that your mum used to make them. Your 'tribute' is gorgeous. Thanks for joining The Library.ReplyDelete

I hope people stay away from Churches today - I know it's a very important day for Christians but surely one of their core beliefs is that God is everywhere so staying at home and using one of the many online services today is the safe and sensible thing to do.
Thanks for joining us at Craftyhazelnuts Christmas challenge.
