I have concluded my computer is nuts...Oh and a couple of cards:)

So, On Sunday, late afternoon, the computer decided to be an a-hole and not work...again. I wanted to post these 2 cards I made but I couldn't so I informed you all that I may or may not be able to work this Black Swan (see the stupid movie) due to Windows 10 or as I like to call it-the devil.

Last night, lo and behold it was working! I downloaded the pictures and I wanted to "fix" them up-the quick retouch and that is when the computer laughed devilishly, toying with me like I was some mouse until finally it just went all blue screen on me. Obviously Windows 10 and the picture retouching don't like each other so I apologize for the not so nice looking pictures.

Alcohol inks, various stamps, prisma colour pencils, die cut, sizzex machine, crackle paint (yup didn't work), distress ink, cardstock, ribbon.

OK, so a new Battle of the Bands (At Stephen T. McCarthy' Blog) is now on but this is from the last battle. I love listening to all the battles because I am learning so much but I had the bright (cue dim bulb) idea of being inspired by one of the songs. Janie Junebug at Women:We Will Overcome, had Journey's "Don't Stop Believing" as her battle challenge and that was my choice. I just truly believe in...believing no matter what! Sometimes that is all we have to go on plus faith- they almost go hand in hand. I love my Da Vinci Gal and she looks a bit lonely as she gazes down and she will not stop believing whether it be love or whatever. Now I bought this new "paint" which is a crackle paint that you can place on with a foam brush which I did. After 10 or so, one is supposed to see it crackle...well it didn't happen! I have no idea what I did wrong so if anyone can help me, please do:) At this point I need all the help I can get.

Cardstock, border stamp, bird stamp. Gold die ink and god embossing powder. Burgundy and purple die ink and clear embossing powder for the birds (it really isn't for the birds-it really works well:). markers, water and glitter:)

So I missed the Color Q Challenge because of my schizo windows 10 computer (OK I have bitched a lot about this:)) but I still think this works as a card for almost anything whether it be a birthday, anniversary or whatever. I used watercolour cardstock so I could use my markers to colour them. I am having a brain-melt at the moment because I can't recall the name of my markers which I love and use often. I added some glitter to the white border and pieced all of it together. All my stamps, glitter, markers are way over 6 months old-I keep things forever.

Tomorrow my hubby and I will celebrate our 9 year anniversary when we first met. Since I am working, we won't celebrate until Saturday with a nice dinner and a movie. I can't believe how fast time flies.

  2. Hi again, dear BB! So sorry your computer is giving you fits. Isn't it funny how a distraction of this magnitude causes you to forget the names of your markers? I wish you and your husband a happy "first met" anniversary and hope you don't clobber him for installing W-10. :) Your cards are lovely as usual!

  3. So cute with the cards!! Fun that you celebrate the day you met! This past Sunday was 36 years from when hubby and me met :) At least we remembered the day, even if we didn't celebrate it like we had in some years before :)

Hoping the computer's problems iron themselves out completely and soon!

  6. "You got it going on." I actually heard a guy say that to a woman in a bar once. I was good. I didn't laugh and spray my drink on them. Your daVinci Gal does it have it going on.

I wonder if your apps are incompatible with Windows 10 and that's what's making it go loopy. We can't upgrade our OS system because that would mean upgrading all our apps.

    Happy First-Time-You-Met 9th Anniversary!!

  23. My computer is also acting crazy lately. Or maybe because it's been with me for almost a decade now it wants to retire.

Sorry that you missed all those things.

Those are lovely cards though. I hope our computers would cooperate more. :)

  24. Yep... when you are having a good time, time flies way too fast. Happy Anniversary, Birgit! Have a fabulous celebration tomorrow!

By the way, there are lots of Windows 10 jokes going around - one sleazy one is based on the theme 50 shades of grey. It is called 50 shades of geek. The guy says - you've been naughty and you should be punished. I shall install Windows 10 on your laptop! :)

I had the dreaded blue screen a few times - I updated all my drivers and it seems ok for now...fingers crossed!

The card is so pretty. I've worked with glitter paint on Tshirts and they look very cool! The crackle is a new one!

  25. Birgit....it just dawned on me the spelling of your name. I thought it was BRigit, but it's not. *slap forehead* I guess my brain wanted to see what it wanted and that was that. Oh well...I hate to hear that you're having troubles with your computer. We have a Windows based computer and did the whole install process to the newest OS. All I can say is so far, so good. But, we don't use it much these days. Instead, our computers of choice are our MacBook Pro and MacBook Air computers (just love 'em!). Sure there are things that drive a person crazy about Apple, but the OS is less fussy in many ways than Microsoft. It would be a wonderful world, if someone merged both OS into one and everything worked beautifully, but then that's like hoping to Pegasus. Anyhoo...nice BOTB inspired card creation. You did a good job! I like making handstamped cards, too. I want to create a batch for Christmas, but I'm finding it hard to get motivated. *sigh* Oh well...I hope your computer woes are soon behind you. I know how much of headache they can be. Thanks for stopping by and casting your vote in the latest installment of BOTB. Have a tunetastic weekend!

    1. I have started my Christmas cards but I usually am doing cards just one day per week if all goes well. I have no Ipad or tablet or i phone so my laptop is it:) I would love to see some of your cards and people make that error all the time on my name but as long as you have it now:)

  30. Happy belated 9 year anniversary! I always get stuck fixing other people's (my father's and my husband's) computers that don't work. Plus mine and since I really don't know what I'm doing I spend far too much time reading about how computers work. One of the many things that keep me from blogging and doing other stuff.
