I’m a busy little beaver

Get your heads out of the gutter and stop thinking of Leslie Nielsen from Naked Gun and realize I am talking about my scrapbook. Oh, I’m not showing that yet as it’s not done yet and has been taking up a lot of my time, but I have been making some cards which I am showcasing 2 here today.

Alcohol inks, sun stamp, Red dye ink and Red sparkle embossing powder, cuddlebug, embossing folder, Sizzex machine, corner cut outs, crystals

Penny Black-Summer Colours
Cute Card Thursday-No Patterned paper

My poor friend was told by his partner that he is done with him and  no longer wants to be with him. In less than 2 years, the marriage has ended and in a bad way because when my friend came home from his 3 day tour, a nasty note was left with the wedding ring and a sticky note saying to not try to find him. 2 weeks later, my dear friend was served with lawyer papers demanding half the condo... Oh boy, let the games begin! I decided to create this card for my friend who deserves a little sunshine so what better way than to create summer colours with the fun sun. I dabbed alcohol inks on glossy white paper in nice warm colours and set it aside. I took dye ink pads and placed the colour on craft wipeable sheet, spritzed water on it and placed a basic white papercard onto it to get some nice yellow, golden and orange colour onto the paper. I dried it a bit and dipped it again and then let it completely dry before I stamped and embossed the sun unto it. I fussy cut it out and pieced everything together. I took the border dye cut with the burgandy paper on top and ran it through the sizzex machine to get the border cuts, added some bling and we are done.

Pink shimmer sheer fabric, flower stamp, gold dye ink stamp and gold embossing powder, pastel powders, scissors, ribbon, scizzex machine, dye cut, cuddlebug machine, embossing folder, friend stamp. Glue, glue dots, pop up dots, crystals, pearls

Stamping Sensations-The Earth Laughs in Flowers
Alphabet Challenge-I is for Insect-no Locusts here!
Retro Rubber Challenge-Tic, Tac Toe-I chose Romance, Texture and Ribbon-rrcb116

This card is for my friend’s birthday who loves pink so I used the colour and made it girlie. Those glue dots can be a pain to work with but they work well when you add fabric to a card like I did here. I stamped, embossed and coloured the flowers, that I have had for 6 years, in pastel colours, fuzzy cut them out and stamped it again but just coloured the middle flower and cut that out. I used the pop up dots to raise the flower and, raise the middle flower, again. I put the ribbon around the image, added the dye cut image with the word, friend, on it and that’s it. Since Las Vegas is called a sinful town, it's kind of funny that swarms of locusts have descended on this city.

Hope you like my little creativity

Now a couple of picture from our trip to Quebec.

  1. Beautiful in Quebec! I can spend days there just looking at that view, sitting on a bench of course. Such lovely cards both of them! Strange question/request. Have any elephant stamps and do you make cards for purchase? I'll try to check back here for your answer. No worries either way. Just popped into my head.

    1. I do have a couple of elephant cards and, if you want, let me know. One is comical and cute and the other is quite elaborate...hard to explain. I would be happy to make one for you:)

    2. I am a chemo angel to someone who likes elephants. If you aren't familiar with chemo angels, its a program that provides encouragement for people going through chemo through letters, small gifts, etc. People sign up for it and then there are volunteers assigned to them to write weekly letters/cards and small gifts. There is no obligation to the patient signed up, they don't have to correspond with their angel but just check in once a month with the organization. We keep things positive and encouraging. Anyway, if you have anything cheery elephant wise I'd love if you made one for her. I could pay you for it and the postage involved. You could either send me the card and then I'd mail it to her or you could send it directly with my name and message that I wrote to her if you wanted to do it that way. My email address is lv2trnscrb@aol.com. Let me know! Thanks!!!

  8. The first card is great. (I like the 2nd, too, but I like the 1st better.) Sad reason for a card, though.

  9. Quebec is really beautiful, isn't it? I have a hankering to go back as it is not too far from New Hampshire. And I love the cards. That sun one is really striking. Nice choice of colors. Hope you share more photos from Quebec too. hugs-Erika

    1. Yes it is! He lives out in Vancouver and I went out last year and i could see how this brat was treating my friend but my friend was making excuses as to why he was working all hours and always on the phone and making no time for me at all either

  13. I make cards too, but not like you, I print them. Much easier if not as special. Been meaning to email but never seem to have time lately. Super back/front yard. I spent a few days in Montréal on business some years ago, always want to go back to Québec for a visit, especially to Québec itself.

  18. Oooh, I could simply camp out on the Aunt's & Uncle's front yard. So sorry to hear about your friend's break-up. No doubt your sweet card chirped him up some. Your second card is a wowzer, too. My head spun following how you made it. :-)
I think it was on Noah Trevor's show last night that I heard a report about how grasshoppers was a Ugandan treat and so some people from Uganda offered to go to Las Vegas and help get rid of the grasshoppers. Hmmm, since that was on Comedy Central, now I wonder if it's true.
