Losing one pet is hard but losing 2 in 2 weeks is heartbreaking. When I met my beloved, he had 1 pussy cat and I was more a dog lover than a cat lover but I love all animals so we started a new relationship. 2 weeks into our new relationship, my sweetheart told me he saw a tiny kitten at the pet store who climbed on top of this cat house, knocked the bigger cats off and just looked at him. He knew this pussy cat was a new addition. I was not so happy but what am I to do or say. I met the tiny lass and my heart caved. She was smart, sassy and wouldn't take no for an answer. That was 15 1/2 years ago, I could write so much more about her and my sweet Wallace but I decided to just choose 3 songs that made me think of her.
1. IN AND OUT BY GARRISON KEILLOR-1991
2. CATS MAY SAFELY SLEEP BY GARRISON KEILLOR & FREDERICA VON STADE- 1991
This song is often played on my Classical 96.6 radio station. Again, this is by Garrison Keillor(the lyrics) with Frederica Von Stade, a famous Opera singer, giving a lending hand. Lucy did live to sleep especially snuggled up to Nady who is also in heaven. They are God's creatures so why would they not be there.
3. WHAT'S NEW PUSSYCAT SUNG BY TOM JONES-1965
I always liked this song which was written by Burt Bacharach(music) and Hal David(lyrics). It's from a movie of the same name that I have yet to see but I will....one day. It's fun snd, for that time, hip. This just reminds me of Lucy.
Amy pussycat songs you like...no Pussycat Dolls...actual pussy cats. And, no, Pussy Galores.
I need to keep my comment short this morning because I am leaving in a couple of minutes for my monthly visit to the clinic. I will return later today to listen to the songs you selected to remember and honor Lucy. It makes me very sad that you have lost two beloved pets in as many weeks. That's an emotional burden I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy, let alone one of my best friends. Please take comfort envisioning Lucy and Wallace together again, reunited after only a brief time apart, pain free and playing happily in their new forever home. Please know that I'll be thinking about you today and hoping that your broken heart will soon mend, even though the memories of Wallace and Lucy will surely remain intact the rest of your life. They were a part of you. Bless you, dear friend BB!
Thank you so much Shady. I am certain Lucy cuddles up to Wallace and then smacks him just like she did here. I feel a bit numb to be honest. It just is sad.Delete
So hard to lose a pet. My son lost one of his cats at Christmas time. She was 20 years old. He is considering getting a kitten, but not sure how the other old cat will handle it.ReplyDelete
I hope he gets a kitten. Often it works out better than you think.Delete
So sorry Birgit. That must be heart wrenching. Your little lass looked and sounded like my little Emma. She and my 90 pound dog (at that time) were best friends. And she never took no for an answer either. I want you to know I'm thinking of you. Hugs-ErikaReplyDelete
Thank you so much. It’s nice when I hear how other pets got along.Delete

I am SO sorry to read about Lucy. It is heart wrenching and gut wrenching to read this, dear. I feel you have been struck a double blow this month. Although I've only heard the last song, I still love the tribute you have paid to Lucy. SO sad to read this news, dear.ReplyDelete
Thank you so much. It’s been a rough couple of weeks. I hope you hear the first one because it is funny.Delete
