What Am I doing??

I was himming and hawing whether to participate in this challenge since I seem to be having a tough time keeping up now, but I am going for it. This is actually a fun challenge where you can write about anything you wish, keeping it short since many people join in. One day I will break with film...but not yet. My reveal theme is...big surprise...movies! I am certain you might be already bored with it but I will try to create something new. I was thinking about writing about my mom and dad but I am too emotional still. I hope I keep up because I only have my I Pad for home. Why? My hubby spilled coffee all over the lap top and killed it! Thankfully the hard drive is ok but before I could say, see if it will dry out, he threw the laptop out! He is never touching my Ipad!! The bad part is the the blog does not work on my I pad so I have to make my posts at work (Shhh). The A to Z challenge is just that...a big challenge but it is fun to read what everyone is interested in and see who enjoyed my little scribblings.

  1. Hi Birgit - glad you'll be joining us ... and we'll be reading up on more movies ... good luck with sorting a new machine (which is not an ipad!) - cheers Hilary

  2. I won't be doing the challenge this year -- I've only participated in 2014 and 2016 so far -- but I look forward to your posts. In fact, I'm pretty sure the A-Z is how I found your blog to begin with.

  3. Hi, Birgit!

Your A to Z theme is MOVIES? I am flabbergasted! :) Well, you know that I am a movie buff and therefore your theme will certainly be of interest to me, as long as all of the films discussed contain car chases, explosions, girls in bikinis and guys in gorilla suits. :) Since I have a growing number of friends who are participating in the A to Z I will of course need to budget my time accordingly and I will check in on you as often as possible during the ultra busy month.

Best of luck with this year's Challenge, dear friend BB!

  5. Sorry about your computer. I doubt you could run out of movie themes to do. There is so much there.

  6. I haven't decided yet whether to do this challenge. You almost have me wanting to, Birgit. Almost. Regardless, I'll be following you. :-)

  11. I am having a terrible week. I can’t stop coughing, my internet keeps going offline, and my keyboard works about half the time. Happy Vernal Equinox, too. I look forward to your A to Z again this year.

    1. We'll have a brief moment of silence for your computer.....
I'm not doing the A-Z this year, but you're right. It's fun. Looking forward to your posts.
FYI: Not to worry about Faux. None of our critters are allowed outside unless they're inside the privacy/cat fence.
      Have a great one.

  15. Sorry about the laptop, hope you get a new one. I found A to Z too much to keep up with, not the blogging but the visiting was taking up way too much time of which I seem to have less and less. Will look forward to reading yours though.

  18. Bummer on losing your laptop, but good thing you had a backup Ipad! You're a good writer, so it will be very interesting to see what you write in your movie theme. Totally understand about not writing about emotional things just now, and you certainly know your movies, so looking forward to your words! Good luck, hope it will be therapeutic for you too, and it IS hard to keep up with all the commenting. TFS &Hugs

  19. Ouch! Hopefully that wasn't a Mac that got tossed in the trash.

Good for you for going for it, Birgit! It's a ton of work, but we'll be here, cheering you on. I may not get to all your posts, but I'll do what I can.

  20. Birgit,

Sorry to hear that your computer got fried! I hope you had everything safely backed off that was important. We had a hard drive failure in our Dell desktop in 2010 and talk about a nightmare! Unlike your hubby, we just pulled out the drive and took it to Best Buy. Luckily, they managed to retrieve the data. We bought a new hard drive our Dell and uploaded the content to it successfully. We weren't without a computer completely. We were making the switch to Mac but all of our files were not transferred over, especially photos. That's what I really wanted off our Dell HD anyhow. Let's just say, that experience taught us a valuable lesson like make sure everything is backed off to at least two different external hard drives. I have gone so far as to create a Flickr account to keep my photos stored in the cloud. I'm not taking any chances this time. :)

It would be awesome to read about your parents in a future A2Z event. I certainly understand how raw your emotions are still. Maybe next year, you'll be ready to share. We just lost DH's dad on Tuesday night. He turned 95 less than two weeks ago. This is a bittersweet time for us. He's now in heaven with the love of his life, my wonderful mother-in-law. What a reunion that had to be, too!

I'm delighted to hear that you're doing the A2Z Challenge again, my friend. Movies will be a fun theme to roll with, as I know you always introduce me to some new films in every post. Sounds great!

As you may know, I'm taking on the challenge again this year, too. This is my 5th year of A2Zing. You probably already know what I'll be blogging about but just in case you don't then you can read all about it in my Theme Reveal post.

Have a good day and thanks for visiting, my friend!

  21. Yay! I don't think we can ever run out of ideas to post about the movies. It's a great theme that has many takes.

I always have a bit of a fear that my computer will go kerplunk. So far this one has been serving me very well.
