I am doing the A to Z challenge and it is fun to read everyone's  blog but I am also happy to create a card. I chose Spring/Easter combo as I think this card does both:) it has been so-blecchhhh here that I had to feel a little like spring and colour. My mom, from when she created Faberge styled eggs, had this card that she used some hodge podge or something and got rid of the paper but left the full image and it could stretch around an egg. I thought it was so pretty that I used it for me card. I used a deep yellow and blue cardstock, added a little green left over paper and some ribbon. I finished it off with some die cut flowers and a little bling. Happy Sunday! Oh Thanks Mom for this inspiration:)

E for Nelson Eddy

BORN: June 29, 1901

DIED: March 6, 1967

AGED: 65 yrs from a stroke

MARRIED: Once

FAMOUS PARTNER: Jeannette MacDonald

One half of America's singing sweethearts. Great voice and most famous for the 8 films he did with Ms. MacDonald. They were famous for the operettas and classical style music they brought in the mid to late 30's. Amazing to think how popular they were-sing a long with me while you wear your Canadian Mountie uniform.."I am calling yoooooo-ooooo-oooou..." Always rumour that he and Ms MacDonald were lovers but also heard they didn't care for each other. I heard a tape of him speaking about her passing and he was broken up so, whether they were lovers or not, he cared for her-my belief-now cue the singing as I need to hear the Indian Love Call. Later toured in nightclubs and he made fun of his image.

D for Marlene Dietrich

BORN: December 27, 1901

DIED: May 6, 1992

AGED: 90 yrs-Old age-bedridden(she placed herself there no other reason really)

MARRIED: Once-poor guy

AFFAIRS: Holy Sex Queen Batman! She swung both ways-Joseph Von Sternberg, Maurice Chevalier, Mercedes D'Acosta(she got around), Jean Gabin, George S Patton, The U.S. Army, Edith Piaf, Yul Brenner etc...

Image was all! Famous for her legs  and wearing pants! Controlling and narcissistic. John Gilbert, a famous silent film actor, actually died in her bed while they were...you know.... but to make sure there was no bad press, she called the studio who removed him from her bed and brought his body to his own place. She was a morale booster during WW2 and Hitler denounced her. She often played her musical saw for the troops. Major Cabaret chanteuse in the 1950's and 60's. Famous for her "nude" sparkly gowns. When she fell off the stage in the late 70's she went into hiding in her Paris apartment and would make calls to many people over the years. The last few years she decided not to leave her bed at all...ever! "Bring the jar of  pee to the bathroom dearie" (shudder).  Sad end to an amazing life really.

C for Ronald Colman

BORN: February 9, 1891

DIED: May 19, 1958

AGED: 67 yrs from a lung infection

MARRIED: Twice-the 2nd to Benita Hume

FAMOUS PARTNER: Vilma Banky (silent days-A beautiful Hungarian actress)

OSCAR: A Double Life

He fought at the battle of Ypres and was wounded and  tried to hide a limp he had afterwards. Became famous in the silent era but even more in sound films. His voice was Ooh-La-La! He was known for his vanity-I guess he loved the mirror:)

B for Louise Brooks

BORN: November 14, 1906

DIED: August 8, 1985

AGED: 78 yrs from a heart attack. Suffered from emphysema and Arthritis

AFFAIRS: Holy Cow! Name them!!-Charlie Chaplin, Greta Garbo, Mercedes D'Acosta, James Card. She wasn't picky

Free Spirit, Highly intelligent and opinionated. Took off from the studio without caring. Loved Proust, Writer-"Lulu in Hollywood". Dixie Dugan cartoons from the 1920's were inspired by her. Ended up working in Saks 5th Ave.store until rediscovered in the 1950's.  She was also a call girl apparently. Alcoholic and recluse  later in life. Cult Figure. Excellent Bio by Barry Paris.

A-Fred Astaire

MARRIED: Twice-first wife passed away in early 1950's, married again in late 1970's to a jockey

 

Amazing dancer! Must see to appreciate his brilliance (you tube it-Begin the Beguine). Loved horses and the races. perfectionist and worry wart-sister called him Moaning Minnie. Lost weight perfecting dances. Hated the feather outfit of Ginger's in Top Hat-Feather would fly and get on his clothes.  Favourite Dance Partner-he never really said but claims are he loved to dance with Rita Hayworth.When Ginger received Kennedy Centre Honours 2nd wife refused to show any of the dances Ginger did with Fred(now dead) stating she does not want her husband's image used wrongly. She had no problem having his image dance with a vacuum cleaner in a commercial though...Bitch!

Mr. Mouse

Mr. Mouse has travelled around the card to give a little girl a flower:) This is for my friend's daughter's birthday and she loves yellow and orange-just like her mom. I used the cuddlebug for the framing and it ends with a flower which I used magenta stickles to highlight the flower. I also used the cuddlebug to cut out the corners. I stamped Mr. Mouse and coloured him with tombow markers, cut him out and placed him on the edge waiting to give the little girl her flower. I used a paw stamp around the card since he is looking for the little girl. A happy little story
