I actually listened to all your suggestions and read the comments but I have had a most difficult week last week and it is extending into this week. Anyway, enough crap, Check out Jingle, Jangle, Jungle for her latest themes and here they are...
A SONG WITH A FLOWER IN THE TITLE
A SONG WITH A TYPE OF COIN IN THE TITLE
A SONG WITH AN OCCUPATION IN THE TITLE
1. DESERT ROSE SUNG BY STING-1999
When I first heard this song, I was really taken in with it. I found it haunting and I am not a huge Sting fan but he did a great job. I think it is one of his better songs.
2. 10 CENTS A DANCE SUNG BY RUTH ETTING-1930
I love this song and first heard it when Doris Day sang it, playing Ruth Etting, in a biography about her (Love Me or Leave Me). Somehow, this Rogers and Hart song (yes, before Rogers joined with Hammerstein) really got to me and I love the original Ruth Etting number.
3. THE TOREADOR SONG SUNG BY DMITRI HVOROSTOVSKY-2014
OK, hate me, it's an opera song but I have listened to many songs that I don't care for so...so there...lol. I love Carmen which is by Georges Bizet from 1875. There are many famous pieces from this one opera including this great one which is about the bullfighter whom Carmen sets her sights on. It has been done by many, many people but this man just got to me...what a shame he died in 2017 from brain cancer.
Now for your amusement....
